Reactions to Sarah Palin’s decision to resign the governorship of Alaska have been a reminder of her unmatched ability to elicit strong emotions from friend and foe alike. We know some of the reasons why. It’s her evangelical Christianity and her folksy manner. It’s her small-town roots and her “new feminism.”
But there is something more. A year ago, Palin gave birth to her youngest son, Trig, who has Down syndrome. Since then, mother and son have become objects of the left’s unrelenting scorn and the right’s unflinching fidelity.
An underexamined reason why Palin is loved and loathed so fiercely is her intimate association with two of our most divisive issues: disability and the right to life.
In her resignation statement, Palin suggested her decision was due in part to her family’s reaction to personal attacks against Trig. Those comments stoked the rage of the Palin-haters. At Talking Points Memo, an article sarcastically suggested that Palin resigned because “she wants to spread Down syndrome ... because Down syndrome is just too cute to be reserved for one in 800 births.”
A Paliban Daily article titled “Sarah Palin’s Retarded Platform: More Trigs!” interpreted Palin’s outspokenness on disability rights as a political ploy to win votes. Other articles contained subtle but unmistakable eugenic overtones.

This makes me sick to my stomach. While I would not wish for a Downs Syndrome child, if the Lord blessed me in such a way, I would take care of that child until my very last breath.
These Liberal idiots want eugenics and abortions for children who are “different.” What would’ve happened if Helen Keller’s mother aborted her? Imagine the advances in handicap accessibility that would’ve been lost.
Liberals and progressives are the same as Socialists and Communists. They don’t want anything to impede with their Bachannalian lovefests. They are GODLESS people who will roast in the fires of Hell for their utter contempt for the beauty of life and all of its variety.

And yet, they come looking for trouble with FR whenever someone here (very rarely I might add) dares to criticize and ridicule Obama’s daughters.
Sarah needs our prayers now more than ever.

Don’t forget the left is scared to death of this beautiful lady..What class she has..and they are afraid of that..She is very intelligent and beautiful at the same time..The thing is the public is getting sick of these demons that attack a baby..Sarah chose to keep Trig not murder him..and for that the demons of hell are after her..(The demons I speak of are the whole democrat party)

I don’t know...the evil that lurks in the hearts of some of these libs is stunning...I’m pretty sure there will be several articles in the NYT about their hate filled rants...any day now...
It’s time for a whole bunch of “real talk” here. Though I doubt the libs will cooperate.
They seem almost angry that a pregnant lady would search her heart and choose the burden of bearing a Down’s Syndrome baby. We have genetic tests for that.
The homosexual lobby has ensured a “stop” on the same genetic tests. While the libs berated GWB his entire term for not going for their version of following “science”, they seem oddly quiet now.
So now I’d like to know how many of these moral superiors can guarantee me this: “If you knew your child would be born gay, would you bear that child?”
In other words, are you as brave, ballsy, and humane as Gov. Palin and her family?
Somehow, I suspect .................crickets.
