Is making a racist remark about President Obama's daughter worse than wishing a conservative talk show host would die?
Such should be asked of MSNBC's Keith Olbermann who on Monday was quite angered by some truly tasteless comments about Malia Obama posted last week at Free Republic.
Yet, back in April when Olbermann published a diary at the liberal website Daily Kos concerning his waterboarding challenge to Sean Hannity, the "Countdown" host wasn't at all outraged by the venomous attacks made on the Fox News star which included some Kossacks wishing he would die.
For those that can stand it, here's a sampling of such commentary:
SNIP
I'll throw in a grand if they end up trach-ing Hannity and he has to spend the rest of his life putting a finger over the tube in order to say 'it wasn't torture'...

Or this:

I've got a better idea. Let's just keep the water flowing until he goes limp, and the world is suddenly a slightly nicer place to live.

Now, these comments were posted almost three months ago, and are still up...in a thread created by Olbermann no less.
Did he enter this thread and chastise those making such remarks?
Not that I can see.
Did he contact Markos Moulitsas and complain about this behavior?
Well, if he did, the comments are still available.
Did he make Moulitsas the "Worst Person in the World" for allowing such commentary at his website?
Of course not.
Has he boycotted the site as a result?
Nope, he's written three diaries since.
Newsbusters has done a good job of pointing out the hypocrisy of Olbermann and the Daily Kos.
Olbermann is a white ass-hat....
Venom, hatred, and filth are normal for Rats.
There’s different rules for us’n them......

NO millinery in this world could make one to ‘spec’. LMAO!
I dont spend much time at Kos or DU but I have seen similar comments about Laura Ingraham and Tony Snow(i.e. “looking forward to their cancers killing them” type remarks.) The Laura Ingraham comments were so bad that Elizabeth Edwards actually went on DU to intervene.
She wasted her time, obviously.
Michelle Malkin has it right about these folks. A lot of them are simply unhinged.
But their cause (lib stuff) is sooooooooooo noble. It justifies the means. /s
Didn’t one of them recently amuse 0bama by expressing the hope that Limbaugh suffer kidney failure? Or something like that.
If you wanted to generate news, we could go bomb the Daily Kos with ugly crap and take a picture of the page and say see, they do vile things there. The only difference is about 3/4 of them would say "Right On dude" and leave it posted. We pull it here.
olbermann is such a boy. Remember the stories about his “performance” inabilities??? Hahahaha!
Always desperate to make us forget!!!
Umm, clearly it is not worse to wish someone to die if that someone is: 1. not a minority (i.e. a white male) and 2. a Conservative.
The double standard is the only standard lieberals will adhere to.
MSNBC wouldn’t put Olbermann on the air if it weren’t merely a partisan shilling org.
Only if the person you wish dead is black.
“Only if the person you wish dead is black.”
Or white, like Clarence Thomas.
I’m certain Chris Parry, Intrepid Boy Journalist, is all over this even as we speak.
Sure we’re racist, just not as racist as the Kooks or Keith Overrated.
Pray for America
Did you read some of the comments on NB?
Some of the defenders of this hate speech against a private citizen like Hannity exercising his First Amendment rights amounts to....
Well he is an adult and Malia is a child so it is not as bad. Whoever wrote that has a future as a professional spin doctor for a political campaign.
We are?
