I'm not English-American or Irish-American or White-American or Straight-American or Christian-American or Conservative-American or Middle Class-American. I'm an AMERICAN! And I thank God every day to be born free and fortunate enough to have been born in the freest country on the planet! And among the most determined and most capable people ever assembled!
I refuse to submit to the liberal attempts to divide our free people into organized hyphenated special interest groups and pit us against each other. I refuse to bow down to and tip-toe around the professional race pimps. Or the homosexual lobby. Or the radical feminist groups. Or the radical environmentalist groups!
I AM a native American! And I am proud of my national heritage, all of it! We've had our trials and tribulations have made our mistakes and have fought tremendous battles to right our wrongs and defend our liberty and will continue making mistakes and continue fighting the battles because we are human and we long to be free!
And the war for freedom is never won! There's always someone who wants to gain power over us, to organize us, to control us, to make things better for us, to make our lives more orderly, more organized, more healthy, more efficient, more like the way THEY'd like to see us be! They wish to GOVERN us! To saddle us! To train us! To work us! To control us! To bury us!
No thanks! I was born free and I'm determined to live free and I'm determined to die free and leave a future where my children and their children may live free!
To hell with hyphenated America! To hell with socialist America! Disband your jealousy ridden greedy little I-Want-It-My-Way separatist groups and UNITE under the American banner of equality, justice and freedom for ALL as God intended and our fathers left us!!
Live Free or Die, Jack.
Morgan Freeman to Mike Wallace: Stop talking about it (race). Im going to stop calling you a white man. And Im going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman.
Signed,
an American, who happens to be of Hispanic descent.
Beautifully said, Jim. Progressives use it as a tool to divide and control.

Like me you are a minority.
I am very proud to be a minority in today’s US culture.
Very proud.
Actually, Jim, I’m Irish-, English-, German-, Native-American . . . . . . . . LOL!!!
I can’t even stand my own BS!! I’m a proud non-hyphenated American just like you are and I resent the effort by our political class to drive a hyphenated wedge between us!! QAt one time, we were ALL proud, non-hyphenated Americans; lso called the “world’s melting pot”!
Until the politicians started the hyphenated politically correct BS that is trying to divide us into oppositional groups!!
GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
QUOTE:
There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all.
This is just as true of the man who puts native before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French before the hyphen. Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance.
But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as any one else.
The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English- Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian- Americans, or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality than with the other citizens of the American Republic.
The men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country. The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American.
—Theodore Roosevelt, Addressing the Knights of Columbus in New York City
12 October 1915
Since both my parents were born here just like me,
I guess that makes me a American/American?

Nice opus! Be careful, you might get a bunch of e-mails calling you rascist against hyphens!
I have already decided that if (when) the health care bill passes, and in a couple of years when my employer has effectively eliminated the health insurance benefit, I will not ever join the public option. I know that will lead to fines for not being covered, and I will not pay those fines. Yes, that will lead to a warrant for my arrest and I will not report to the jail. Needless to say, they will try pounding in my front door and taking me by force.
That day, I will make the news. I will not give the government the ability to control my physical being. Period.
Right on, Jim, good job, my man!!
Imagine a German citizen, right after Hitler came into power, saying: “I’m a German! I’m free! And I’m proud of my country! And I’ll defend it until the day I die!”
Wonder if he would end up with frostbite and a couple bullet holes at the Russian front.
We must re-assess, from time to time, what our country actually represents, and adjust our paradigms accordingly or else, sometimes, we may find ourselves on the wrong side.
Very well said.
Especially this: “To hell with hyphenated America! To hell with socialist America! Disband your jealousy ridden greedy little I-Want-It-My-Way separatist groups and UNITE under the American banner of equality, justice and freedom for ALL as God intended and our fathers left us!!”
Amen
Thought you’d like a ping to this one...
;)
Thank you Jim. We should all stand up and shout “We are America”.
When I was a young teenager, I was introduced to some girls from Florida who were guests of a friend.. The subject came up of ancestry. We went around the table and everyone talked about their ethnic origins. When it was her turn, one of the Florida girls said with a puzzled look...”I’m just plain ole American.” We all laughed.
In truth, that is exactly who we are. I realized after traveling in Europe how American I really am despite my lifelong claims of being “Italian.” There is no other culture, no other country birthed in rebellion, survivor of internal conflict, defender of freedom and protector of all that is sacred that can measure up to America’s promise.
Thank you for posting this.
