Susan Estrich: Voters sure to punish Palin (Barf Alert)
Inquirer ^ | Sun, Jul. 12, 2009 | Susan Estrich

You don't need a briefing book on being a mother to answer this one:

What do you do when your daughter comes home complaining that she wants to drop off the swim team or never go to school again because the other kids are being mean and saying terrible things about her family?

Sure, the first few times, you want to beat up the bullies with your bare hands. But you don't. These are life lessons. You tell her about "sticks and stones," you tell her to swim even faster, laugh in their faces, and prove by her success that she's better than they are. Listen to your mother, you say, mothers know about this.

Sarah Palin didn't just take a political risk when she quit the governorship of Alaska without completing her first term. She took herself out of electoral politics for good. Alaskans will never again elect her. And half a term as governor will never be seen as enough to qualify for the presidency.

Especially for a quitter and a sore sport.

Liberals have an ulterior motive — it is to misuse government for personal gain, by ignoring the Constitution and the process of law. Anyone who supports them enables criminal government, and should be judged accordingly.

Palin has removed herself as an easy target, and now the stinking crowd of commentators that viewed her as an easy target is not pleased. May they roast in hell, as usual.

"An ugly crone with an ugly little mind.
I wonder how she ever got a job on TV?"

Didn't you just answer your own question? That description covers 90% of the so-called media.

And what do you tell your daughter who wants to leave a good job out in the sticks in order to pursue a better job in the big city?

Some of the smartest people to me are the ones who quit after less than 2 weeks at a new job. They realize it was a mistake and they move on.

And half a term as governor will never be seen as enough to qualify for the presidency.

But serving half a Senate term while voting "present" half the time is sufficient qualification, right Susan?

Didn't Obama also promise his constituents that he would not run for President during his first term as US Senator?

All of these quitter-bots, including more than a few freepers, just don't get it. While no one doubts the virtues of persistence, there is a matter of judgment involved. During the Civil War we had a saying: "He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day." Knowing when to sell is the secret to investment success. Knowing when to change course is wisdom that can save your life.

As W C Fields once said, "If at first you don't succeed, try try again. Then quit. No sense being a damn fool about it."

To answer my own question, yes he did.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/10/obamas_campaign_built_on_lies_1.html

The First Big Lie: Running For the Presidency

When Obama was elected a US Senator in 2004 he pledged to the voters of Illinois that he would not run for President in 2008. This is what Obama said on that subject in 2004:

“Look, I can unequivocally say I will not be running for national office in four years.”

Obama gave a similar response to a question from a reporter that he dismissed as “silly”: “Guys, I’m a state senator. I was elected yesterday. I have never set foot in the U.S. Senate. I’ve never worked in Washington. And the notion that somehow I’m immediately going to start running for higher office, it just doesn’t make sense.”

I sometimes lovingly remember her as Susan “John Kerry will win Ohio and then John Kerry is going to be president” Estrich.

Anybody else remember election night 2004 on Fox?

Susan Estrich: Voters sure to punish Palin

Susan Estrich: Sarah Palin didn't just take a political risk when she quit the governorship of Alaska without completing her first term. She took herself out of electoral politics for good.

So Susan, how exactly can the voters punish a woman who has "taken herself out of electoral politics for good?" The Left is scared out of their minds right now -- they KNOW that not only is Sarah still in the game, she's the main player. It's completely transparent -- they're in panic mode about her resignation. If Sarah had truly taken herself out of electoral politics, her enemies would drop the subject in short order. But the attacks are just beginning.

Quitting isn’t what they’re worried about; its not quitting that is bothering them. - Had she wished to quit, she could have remained as governor, or run for the senate, but she knows that she is destined to greater accomplishments.

They know that she will succeed, and it is killing them.

Estrich might like to read about another quitter who gets a chance to tell how it feels to be treted kinda like the Democraps and the MSM symbolically treated Sarah Palin. I really wish it had been Estrich who had this experience — she deserves it.
