ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.
The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."
"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

It is said that the times make the man (or woman) well these are Sarah's times, a perfect match. Something big is happening, battle lines are being drawn, history is about to be made. Sarah is out numbered and out gunned, but if she can rally the people to the cause of saving the nation from global Marxist government she can prevail. G*d bless her for trying!
Who?? What conservative Democrats?
There are non in congress now. About any new so-called conservative who wishes to run for congress as a Democrat, why would they if they have no plans of caucusing with the already existing liberal Democrat party?
Kinda hope she doesn’t start a new party....want to be a banner for the republican party, helping us get back to our core and bringing out democrats who have been left behind by the creepy form the democrat party has taken. At least the republican party has not been as molested and dirtied up as the dem party ( mostly because the press corp has helped the dem party fall apart and rewrite itself as anything goes and the government should run our lives, cradle to grave ).
It's hard to be happy with some of what the R's have done, but I seriously doubt Sarah is going to start a new party. That would likely elect us democrats for the next forty or fifty years, and she probably knows that.

Here is the explanation: There aren’t any, and she won’t stump for them. This accomplishes 2 good things:
1) The MSM cannot scream about her partisanship
2) It is a warning to RINO’s(and we have a bunch) that conservatism trumps party, and the RINO’s had better move to the right.

And by the way, John Anderson did not try to build a coalition. He was a one world, far left rep from Illinois, who got his butt kicked by Reagan in the GOP primaries back in 1980. Doonesbury eulogized him and further divided the Indy/left vote.
Anderson was a one year wonder who left the GOP when he couldn’t win there. Bush one got more primary votes than he did.
I met the man and interviewed him during my radio days. Anderson led no movement outside his media cheerleaders. They hoped that Anderson would split the GOP vote, take Independents from Reagan and re-elect Carter. The opposite happened and Kennedy people went with Reagan and Anderson out of spite. Reagan even carried Massachusetts.

Yeah, I saw that same July 6th Gallup poll too. According to the Gallup poll just two days later, of that 40% self-identified conservatives, 37% thought Barack Obama was doing a swell job. How many conservatives do you know that approve of Barack Obama.

I don't care how people choose to describe themselves. But, I do care how those people vote.
It is the best idea I’ve seen in quite a while. Three parties don’t work but this just might. It’s like forming a “conservative party” without the party label.

No not at all. A political party is not a single entity but instead it's a group of people. It was a minority of Republicans and their voters inside a largely conservatively party who formed a coalition with the Democrats that stopped the majority of Republicans and their voters from getting things done from '95 to '06.
Conservative Democrats don’t exist. Reagan democrats do, but not Conservative ones. She won’t be getting any phone calls. No Democrat is gonna want her at a rally so that she can bash Obama, it won’t happen. She is playing a brilliant strategy here, she is saying “Hey find me a Conservative and I will support them, no matter what party they belong to” no response from Democrats “Oh well see I tried”
Because they both have things to offer.
I still think it’s an intriguing offer. It, as Senator Blutarsky used to say, “don’t cost nothin’”, and it’s a nice gesture to (relatively) conservative Dems (which is probably a lot more fruitful pickings than the politicians themselves) and independents. Now if she ended up campaigning for a bunch of Dem hacks, that’d be a problem, but I think she’s bright enough not to do that. The fun starts if she actually finds some legitimate prospects and goes on the trail with them. Imagine, if you will, a Democrat campaign where Sarah Palin is campaigning for the candidate, and the Kos Kids are having shrieking fits against. Come on, people. It would be all-time. Popcorn-worthy, my friends.
Sarah is fighting for the soul of the Republican party. Regardless of whether she ends up like Goldwater or like Reagan, I thank her for fighting for conservative principles over party-centric strategy.

Is this just your opinion or do you have evidence?
Where has Palin said that, links?.... I really don't think she's that naive to believe she can just start a new party and be on the ballot in enough states to have any influence. It's not that easily done and there are plenty of examples out there to show that 3rd parties aren't in the game.
That right there sets her apart from 99.999% of politicians.
