URGENT -- Venezuela's Chavez says he will act militarily if the country's ambassador to Honduras is attacked or kidnapped during coup.
BULLETIN -- VENEZUELAN PRESIDENT CHAVEZ WARNS OF MILITARY ACTION AGAINST HONDURAS.
Venezuelan president Chavez says he will do "everything necessary" to abort the military coup in Honduras.

the US State Run Media will report this purely as a coup, not as a legal defense of their constitution.
just changing my tagline...
He knows a do-nothing POTUS when he sees one. Ditto the other despots. Looks like Hell’s coming.
The F-5s were originally transferred from the USAF agressor squadron after refurb. But they couldn’t afford them so they were returned.
Ask the creditors from chrysler and gm what they think bama feels about the rule of law.
We're older and most of us have more to lose. Otherwise, it's a repeat of a nightmare. I spoke with a young lady at a local store yesterday about the conditions during the Carter Administration and mentioned that the "Scare du jour" was global cooling. She was shocked. The kids aren't learning this stuff and their young votes are re-creating the mess of the Carter years. Arghhhhh.
Think about what you just wrote. It’s really quite absurd. No matter what his decision, it the odds are great that it won’t affect him. Chicken or Warrior, it won’t affect him directly.
Now, since you are such a badass, what do you propose President Obama do about Chavez and his remarks? Let me put it this way. Are you willing to grab a rifle and go in harms way or put your son or nephew in harms way? Decisions like this aren’t some abstract theory or game. People’s lives are at stake.
Internet tough guy: How many American lives should be given for the cause? How many from your family? Oh, it’s for other people to worry about. I see.
With this comment you have proven yourself to be a really ignorant person with respect to military history.
Let’s hope this defense of the constitution goes peacefully and that innocent civilans don’t die needlessly. One can only hope that Hugo Chavez and Stupid for that matter has one less ally in Central America.
That being said, with family in the country, in Tela on the north shore, I’m a little worried right about now.....
Reread my posts and I will let you re ask the question.
“Mexicans are likely to just shoot them coming across”
No doubt, Mexico loves for us to have open borders and espouse that notion in regards to us, but they do not practice as they preach.
“We’re older and most of us have more to lose. Otherwise, it’s a repeat of a nightmare.”
This is actually my first go-round with something like this. I’ve only known Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush up to this point. As bad as this sounds, I would so vote for Clinton to come back to get this idiot out. This situation worries the tar out of me. I didn’t get to see Carter so this whole thing worries me worse I guess.
“Why would the White House Resident be upset?”
I hate to admit it, but I have to agree with Obama on this one. In a democracy, the people decide who the president is, not the military. We cannot on the one hand be fighting for democracy worldwide, and in particular, Iraq and Afghanistan, and then simultaneously support a military coup.
Obama will NOT piss off Vladimir Putin, who is orchestrating the Honduras mess with Chavez. It will be all hands off deck from the WH.
Even if the supreme court ruled his constitutional referendum to extend his presidency illegal?
Okay.
I just make suggestions as to why O would be upset, not in any legal form. Just gut feelings. I wonder if I am too old to teach myself our Constitutional law. I would rather study theology, probably less complicated. :)
From the BNO ticker
HONDURAS UNREST — Reuters: Gunshots fired near presidential palace during pro-Zelaya protest.
“The people already are against him. Trouble is, they don’t have the means to overthrow him while the military is still backing him.”
Venezuela is still a democracy, so far as I know. The people elected him in 1998, 2000, and 2006. I don’t see why they cannot unelect him if they wish.
We all know who is running the show and coordinating between Nicaragua, Cuba, and Venezuela... The Russians!
” why we allow a loose cannon to remain in charge of a oil producing country in our hemisphere is beyond me ... “
I thought it was the people of Venezuela who were allowing Chavez to remain in charge, not us, but anyway, what should we do?
