Within minutes, six-year-old Rubjit Thindal went from happily chatting in the back seat of the car to collapsing and dying in her father's arms.

"If we had known it was so serious, we would have called 911,'' Kuldip Thindal, Rubjit's distraught mother, said in Punjabi yesterday. "She just had a stomach ache -- she wasn't even crying.''

Rubjit was pronounced dead at hospital barely 24 hours after showing signs of a fever. Later, doctors told her parents she had the H1N1 influenza virus. She is believed to be the youngest person in Canada with the virus to have died.

How many people in Oklahoma have had H1N1? When you post the next story to herald the third person in the state to have died from it, please include an accurate figure of how many thousands have had it, but didn’t die.

Posting one story about one person who lived, is not a good way to reveal to people how minuscule the actual percentage of people who are dying or not, from H1N1.

Give people an accurate reliable way to make reasoned decisions here. Is that too much to ask? Evidently so.

As for school closings, if you think it’s important to talk about go ahead. I would ask you how many “PANDEMICs” during that period of time were hawked to scare every citizen out of their wits, despite many deaths each year.

It is you contention that children have never been a high risk group with regard to influenza. That’s not my understanding. I’m comfortable with my position on this.

I would add this to my point about 1918 above.

Not only did most people survive 1918, 98% of them did.

But the 2% that didn’t, that meant more Americans lost, than were lost in WWI, WWII, Vietnam and Korea combined.

No one knows whether this will be that bad, but it sure doesn’t look promising. Or it could fizzle out, or it could hook up with H5N1 be worse than anything the world has ever seen. Who knows?

Bottom line is, somehow folks have gotten the idea in the US that we are invincible, and that a catastrophe of this proportion could never happen to us. The same way folks take a ho-hum view of how the Obama administration is trying sinking our country into socialism. Only you’d think the folks at FR would be all over TPTB efforts to hide the truth.

I will say it again. There are good people who work at the CDC, but the people at the top, who call the shots are POLITICAL appointees. The ones currently running things they are far-left liberals. I personally am not convinced they have our best interests in mind. Since the pandemic started, you wouldn’t believe how many times they have moved the goal posts, hidden the data, changed how they report the numbers whenever things look bad. People like DvdMom, LJ and i have been doing this everyday for the past year at least. You would be shocked.

That’s all I’m gonna say about it. 10 kids died since I posted my list that started this bru-ha-ha. 8 of them had no pre-exisiting conditions. Two of them died the same day they started feeling sick. Something could be changing. Somebody’s gotta pay attention. The folks who we pay to do that (with our taxes), and protect people have left the building, unfortunately.

So this year is like any other year. We just don’t know. Acting as if we do, is just juvenile

Now you are just lying, or terribly misinformed. Even your own beloved CDC numbers show very different numbers than has been in years past. Why don't you take a look at some of the latest MMWR graphs and charts and look at the "ramp up" in September. Show me a year it has ever looked like that.

Yeah, DO, please do go find some opposing articles. I sure could use some good news.

Different viewpoints are one thing. I take no issue with that. You are attacking the posters personally. We can’t even post FACTS without being told we are hyping.

Thank you.

This is the first “social distancing” thing that I’ve seen that isn’t about schools or prisons.

Now you are just lying,...

Despite elevated numbers, we do not know what this influenza season has in store for us.  I remember the panic that was exhibited earlier this year.  People were predicting many deaths by May, June, or July, because of the rapid spread of this influenza.  Did that happen?  Will it happen now?  The CDC doesn't know.  You don't know.  I don't know.  At least I am admitting that I don't know.  So which one of us is lying?

...or terribly misinformed.

You've used that line on me before.  Once again, the juvenality springs forth.  Despite elevated numbers, we are not seeing widespread deaths.  We are seeing deaths.  We have always seen deaths from influenza.  We will  continue to see deaths form influenza this year, and on into the future years.  It's a fact of life.

Even your own beloved CDC numbers show very different numbers than has been in years past.

I have major quibbles with the CD and the NIH.  So this is just one more false conclusion you have jumped to.

Yes, the CDC does show elevated numbers for this time of the year.  What does that portend for the future?  We don't know.  The H1N1 bounced around this nation since April.  Those who contracted it earlier and lived, are probably not in danger of contracting it again and having a real bad case of it.  So the numbers may flatten out quickly.  They may not.  They may go up considerably (which would be my guess), but the numbers go up every year.

Why don't you take a look at some of the latest MMWR graphs and charts and look at the "ramp up" in September. Show me a year it has ever looked like that.

The base line question is this.  Will more people die this year than in previous years?  The mortality rate so far from this influenza is not terror inducing.  So the numbers are up.  Are 75% of the infected dying?  How about 25%?  How about evern 0.05%?

That's the important statistic.

And then there's the issue of how many thousands out there contracted H1N1 and didn't even bother to go to the hospital before they got well and went back to their normal routine?
