In addition to crushing blows do to speed, within 10 sec. due to altitude they would have been rendered unconscious.

When Clinton was president, TWA flight 800 blew up -- NOT TERRORISM! NOT TERRORISM!
Now this plane "breaks up in the air" -- NOT TERRORISM! NOT TERRORISM!

There is nothing to support terrorism in either case.

It came down in pieces. It could have blown up. Nothing yet on what caused breakup.

"The paper also reported that some victims were found with little or no clothing, and had no signs of burns."
When the Vincennes shot down the Iranian airliner some of the bodies that were found also had no clothing. The forces that act upon the people are unimaginable.

But there’s nothing to exclude it, either. It’s just one of many options, and will be until further investigation can be done, hopefully including more wreckage retrieval and finding the voice and data recorders.

I will not make a judgment that TWA flight 800 was a terrorist attack.
But it is incorrect to say that there is "nothing to support terrorism" in that case. There were many witnesses who testified that they saw a fiery trail leave the water and hit the plane. Yes, they may have been wrong. There was also (apparently) radar records of an incoming object striking the plane. The records disapprearred and may never have existed. There was (apparently) chemical traces of rocket fuel (not jet fuel) found on some of the wreckage. Maybe that meant nothing.
It may not have been a terrorist attack. But it is incorrect to say that there is "nothing to support terrorism" in that case. But the Clinton administration certainly didn't want to entertain speculation.

Ummmm... a human body going from 500 MPH to 0 MPH in the course of a short distance is going to break bones, whether you are strapped to an aluminum chair or not.
The plane may have broke up in flight, but I don’t see how broken bones is proof of that.
To: SloopJohnB
Apparently there’s a certain pattern of injuries (I forget what they’re called, but there’s a term for it) that’s specific to an in-flight breakup. They’re basically caused by the flailing of limbs caused when the seated, belted passengers suddenly get ejected into a slipstream with an apparent speed of 250-300 mph.

In addition to crushing blows do to speed, within 10 sec. due to altitude they would have been rendered unconscious. The phrase used in my aviation survival training was "time of useful consciousness". It's the amount of time you have between realizing you need to get the oxygen mask on your face and the time you're too far incapacitated to act on your own behalf. 10 to 15 seconds is tops at typical airliner cruise altitudes. In a less catastrophic situation, you might notice being light headed and have more time to get to oxygen.

In the old fighter ejection seats, there wasn't auto restraints and often pilots would have browken arms, or legs from failing.
Now, I believe, they are auto strapped in.

And at cruise altitude, they would be clocking more like 500 mph. I would think the immediate exposure to that windspeed would break bones, think of the idiots who stand out in the 70-80 mph winds of a hurricane, then multiply that by force by 5.
