The new agency is one of the central elements of President Barack Obama's overhaul of the financial regulatory system. The president is set to announce his broad plan on Wednesday.

Now our money isn’t ours

It never was. "Our" money, ie money that escapes the clutches of the govt, is simply an expense to the treasury. Look at it this way. Every penny that goes to your checking/savings account after taxes -- is money the treasury is "spending" by not keeping with itself.

The CRA on steroids: picking out who banks must lend to at below market rates with zero expectation of being repaid and who the banks cannot lend to no matter what the downpayment or high credit score.

Posted previously so I'm plagiarizing: Obama also wants to create a new gov agency that monitors the level of hope of the people and wants to call it “Center for Recording American Progress”.

I think that they are punishing Zicam for advertising on the Rush Limbaugh show.

You may be right. The article I read said there were only 130 complaints out of millions of units sold.

This would be a trial lawyers dream, how could you prove someone could smell?

I do know that the idea of another federal office stinks.

For every $1000 I charge, ACORN will receive one dollar.

John Locke quotes:

Freedom of men under government is to have a standing rule to live by, common to every one of that society and made by the legislative power vested in it and not to be subject to the inconstant, uncertain, arbitrary will of another man.

Henry Ford, quotes about Liberty:

It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.

C. S. Lewis, quotes about Liberty:

‘Useful,’ and ‘necessity’ was always ‘the tyrant’s plea’.

Yep--more big government....uhbama is going to have so many agencys and so many so called czars (doesn't that word just make ya wanna PUKE...so immature and liberal-like, lol, I mean, oooooooooooooooh, so tough!) that there will be more agencys than congress critters, house and senate combined and NO ONE will KNOW what the other is doing or who has authority.

Come to think of it...maybe that is exactly what that blue lipped idiot wants.

Since there’s an EPA & a CEQ, now it will be the Protection Agency for Consumer Equality = PACE. obozo sure has a lot of thank yous in creating these jobs for his people. the only problem is once created no succeeding party wants to get rid of them. Prime example is the Department of Energy. It’s long past due to get rid of this huge nothing.

Can you say another czar?

This from an email I just received...

(From a senior level Chrysler person)

Monday morning I attended a breakfast meeting where the speaker/guest was David E. Cole, Chairman Center forAutomotive Research (CAR and Professor at the Univ. of Michigan. You have all likely heard CAR quoted, or referred to in the auto industry news lately.

Mr. Cole, who is an engineer by training, told many stories of the difficulty of working with the folks that the Obama administration has sent to save the auto industry. There have been many meetings where a 30+ year experience automotive expert has to listen to a newcomer to the industry, someone with zero manufacturing experience, zero auto industry experience, zero business experience, zero finance experience, and zero engineering experience, tell them how to run their business.

Mr Cole’s favorite story is as follows:

There was a team of Obama people speaking to Mr. Cole (Engineer, automotive experience 40+ years, Chairman of CAR). They were explaining to Mr. Cole that the auto companies needed to make a car that was electric and liquid natural gas (LNG) with enough combined fuel to go 500 miles so we wouldn’t “need” so many gas stations (A whole other topic). They were quoting BTU’s of LNG and battery life that they had looked up on some website.

Mr. Cole explained that to do this you would need a trunk FULL of batteries and a LNG tank at big as a car to make that happen and that there were problems related to the laws of physics that prevented them from...

The Obama person interrupted and said (and I am quoting here) “These laws of physics? Who’s rules are those, we need to change that. (Some of the others wrote down the law name so they could look it up) We have the congress and the administration. We can repeal that law, amend it, or use an executive order to get rid of that problem. That’s why we are here, to fix these sort of issues”.

That is downright scary ... we have incompetents running things now ... plus, what grannie will be able to hook up an LNG hose to her car?
