Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton Hotels Corp., pulled advertising on CBS' site because of complaints, company spokeswoman Kendra Walker told TVGuide.com. The company was not an advertiser on Letterman's show.
"We received lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement that he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down," Walker said. She declined to release the cost of the ads.
CBS declined to comment Tuesday.

Gives “frump” a whole new meaning, eh?

I appreciate the fact that your company is conscientious enough to react to David Letterman’s crude, insensitive, and distasteful remarks about Gov. Palin and her daughter.
I have always liked your hotel, but now you are on top of my list. You have gained a customer.
Thanks for your email. Embassy Suites is not a sponsor or advertiser of the David Letterman show. Several online ads appeared on a series of web sites, including cbs.com, among many others. These ads are no longer in rotation on cbs.com. The appearance of these ads on the CBS network web site does not suggest we condone or agree with Mr. Letterman's views or comments. We sincerely appreciate your email.

Great news.
This is what should be happening all over to the media like MSNBC.
We should arrange a complete list of companies to write to to tell them we will boycott them until they stop advertising with such sites.
I have a list of MSNBC advertisers on my blog that I sent letters to if anyone is interested.
pass the list on and tell them that you wont support them, pull their advertising and hit them where it hurts
The non informative and Clintonesque response from "LaKeisha" or some such silliness - convinced me I had wasted my time. I find NO HUMOR in a biased, one sided crude and profane assault against the family of a conservative political figure.. Letterman is not "humor" - it is Goebbels style propaganda and indoctrination.
I doubt they would find “humor” if Letterman were speaking of Michelle and her two "darling" girls working part time in the whorehouses of Amsterdam to defray the cost of their European shopping trip —— would they?
“Money will do it every time.”....
I am certain of Bucktooth Deadletter’s next move....He’s going to start whining and eventually cry.
Letter regarding Letterman from Unilever (Hellmans/Best Foods):
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us regarding your disappointment with the program content which contained a commercial for a Unilever product. We never wish to offend anyone and your opinions are appreciated regarding this subject matter. Advertising for Hellmann’s or media buys are done months in advance and unfortunately we cant foresee issues in the media before they come up. We appreciate the feedback from our consumers and weve decided to pull our online ads from the Letterman show from our advertising schedule moving forward.
We hope that this information has given you a better understanding of our advertising practices. Thank you again for taking the time to share your views with us. You can be assured that your comments will be considered as we continue to challenge our perceptions about what is appropriate for us in today’s environment.
Kind regards,
Your friends at Hellmann’s/Best Foods
“She sighed loudly and asked if this was about Palin and then said” not everyone feels the way you do you know”.”
An appropriate response would have been:
“Yes, I know. Most of them are registered sex offenders.”
“The MET LIFE woman was particularly snarky with me when I suggested they move their ads. She sighed loudly and asked if this was about Palin and then said” not everyone feels the way you do you know”.”
That’s when you go and file a complaint against that rep for her unprofessional attitude.
You could think a celebrity could do better, in this case, Lasko could do better.
She’s plain, but still better looking than Letterman. lol
They are great.
Looked better in some older photos.
She is of course right. Some liked the joke I’m sure. But, I thought it was distasteful.
“It only took a week, millions of outraged viewers and some potentially lost $$$$ before he did the right thing. Nice.”
Neither he or the network have done the “right thing”. His so called apology was no such thing since he basicly accused the viewers of “misunderstanding” the joke.
The right thing would be his immediate resignation or termination.
Don Imus was fired for saying something less offensive than what pedophile dave has said about Governor Palin’s daughter.
Two bagger.
Money will do it every time.
Money and..... Morality - these companies need to put morals above money. Only then will America’s promise be fulfilled.
