Is There A Parallel Spirit World?
Post Scripts ^ | 6/14/09 | OneVike

In today's technological age, it might seem silly for intelligent people to consider a spiritual world where beings we cannot see might exist. Oh it's fine to read books and watch Hollywood movies about the afterlife and spirits that roam the netherworld but that's all make believe, not the real world. In the real world we are taught that reality consists of what we can touch, taste, see, hear, smell, and that the spirit world is for those weak minded individuals who use religion as a crutch to get through the day. But what if I told you that scientists have concluded that there is a strong possibility that a parallel universe really does exist? Now, as a Christian I do not need proof that a spirit world exists, but it is my belief that God wants us to do our utmost to understand what it is He has Created. That being said, the Spirit World is an aspect of God's Creation that we can only speculate upon just as Rene Descartes, the father of modern day philosophy did. Descartes admitted that God was the Creator of the world, but he believed that the spiritual world existed solely in the minds of men. So I guess the question would be, does a parallel spirit world exist, or is it just a figment of our fertile imaginations?

I would suggest that in order to properly answer that question, we need to first realize that God gave us a mind and the ability to think on a level with Him, if only we allow ourselves to put the silly notions of men aside. One silly notion is that reality

We live in a 140 year old farmhouse. When we first moved in our 10 year old son lept talking about the nice old lady who was looking at the stuff in his closet and smoothed his blankets at night. He wasn’t afraid of her and all she seemed to be doing was seeing that he was tucked in to bed.
The rest of us never saw her but occasionally we would smell this fragrance that seemed like something an old lady would wear. A couple times we also smelled coffee brewing and we are not coffee drinkers so we never make it. The final thing that convinced us that we have ghost is when she began to take things off the walls as if she did not like my decorating choices. LOL We were all in the kitchen eating lunch when we heard this BAM, BAM, BAM! from the den. We went in there to find 3 pictures that we had just hung lying face down in the middle of the room on the floor. Then a few other thngs also we taken off walls and either laid somewhere else or in once instance snappoed and broken. That was my last straw and I told her she was welcome to remain but from now on I did the decorating! She was quiet after that until we painted the exterior and she harrassed our painter. She would jiggle his ladder when he was on the second floor. I told him to tell her to stop it and to be firm when he said it, not afraid but stern. She’s been quiet ever since.

I never believed in ghosts until we lived here.

There is another world a "spirit world" that is very real. Most of us have been programed by society not to believe but it is there. Children recognize this, they see, they hear, because their minds are open. Some rise above the imagination theory that is driven into them and still recognize that. You can't touch or see God or the angels above as such does that make them any less real as well?

Read C.S. Lewis’ “The Great Divorce”.

It is a tiny novel about a resident from Hell who gets to be a tourist in Heaven.

A very enlightening and perhaps even Holy insight.

"I stick to the idea of Descartes: The spiritual world is inside our brain, but unfortunately sometimes I reduce my spiritual world by watching TV."

Just a first hand testimony, ... that only works when one is not placed in a fist'ocuffs with the spirit on his terms. I once was grabbed and nearly had my head smashed on concrete by one, and I thought a buddy was messing with me, only to carry on and then fall back in faith in Christ, when it immediately departed. I don;t have all the answers, but by remaining in faith in Christ, I also know I have my hands full in this domain and only spiritually through faith in Him.

The calss of fallen angels aren't simply ideas in our heads, but they can place ideas in our heads, doctrinally called demonic influence. The next stage of actually controlling the thinking and control of a human body, regardless our volition, is demonic possession.

All persons have been made by God and the Son has authority over all things.

Unlike any other time in human history, the individual believer through faith alone in Christ alone, has more power available to him to properly handle such problems.

They aren’t handled by arrogantly taking on the volition or even communicating with such an illicit person. Instead, first place it in God’s hands through faith in Christ and let Him handle the situation.

Pick up this book and read it after facing God and confessing all known and unknown sins to Him through faith in Christ.

My wife knew a young man, the son of a pastor, who died of cancer in a similar family environment, at the hospital that you just described. The family left the room while the hospital staff started to move the body. They returned about a half hour later and saw the young man sitting up in the bed, eyes open and alert. He looked at each one and had a message for each. He said, “Dad, you were right, heaven is beautiful as you described. Mom..., sister etc.” After speaking to each one, he laid back and went to sleep for eternity.

I pray and hope that all who may read this understand that Christ is real. He paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He is the only path to salvation, He said this, not me. Repent of your sins, understand that the “fact” of sin and not the volume of sin is what keeps us separated from our heavenly Father. “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the Dead, you shall be saved.” “For by Grace are you saved, through faith (in Jesus) and that not of yourselves, it is a GIFT of God, not from (your) works...”

The Blood shed on the cross by Christ cleanses us from our sins and makes us, sinners who deserve nothing, clean and pure before God.

believe it or not, I’m starting to believe that we in fact are living in some sort of comupterized Matrix.

How else do you explain deja vu, visions in dreams, ghosts, etc.

In fact the three things I’ll never be able to understand is:

1. space, expanding universe, beginning of time
2. ghosts
3. gay ‘men’

Interesting thread.

It’s interesting that throughout the history of mankind, the angelic and spiritual domain has been considered to very well exist by quite capable persons, yet in our generation so many lapse into thinking spirituality is akin to superstitious lack of knowledge.

Some have described the physical world as perceptible by the five bodily sense; the rational world, perceptible by logic, memory, and reason; and the spiritual world, perceptible truly through faith in Christ.

So much of this is described in Scripture, and if one stops and thinks how would one communicate about such things, which are fruitful to communicate, to people who are scarred in their thinking by the physical and soulish world only, without regenerated human spirits, it becomes apparent how much more veritable is the Word of God.

In regards to learning more and more about Him daily through the daily intake of Bible doctrine, it is important, because after the first death, we are no longer in a position to develop our body and soul for Him.

God doesn;t have to endure the presence of evil forever. There will come a time, when those who are found to be evil are separated from His presence, but His love for man has never failed. The separation only occurs where a fallen man rejects the redemption of sin, already provided for by Christ on the Cross when the sins of all mankind were judged. The forgiveness occurs at the moment of salvation and for postsalvation sin, each and every time we return to Him, face Him, and think our sins to Him, confessing known and unknown sins to Him, recognizing He has already paid for them when they were imputed to Him on the Cross.

Once forgiven, we can have fellowship directly with Him through faith in Christ and He can continue to set us apart, growing us in His Plan, for the present and later the Eternal State.

Mysterio, praise God that He is calling you to search for Him.

I too searched for answers and was shown how Jesus Christ paid the debt for all our sins.

The new testament message can be described through this analogy:

You appear before a court judge because you have broken the law and have been found guilty. The judge hands down his sentence and it’s worse than you could imagine. You cry out to the judge and plead for mercy. The judge informs you that although he is moved by your pleas, the law has been broken and your debt to society must be paid. The judge then surprises you by his next action: He’s a compassionate judge and is so moved by your repentance that while you are still guilty as charged, he will take your place and serve your sentence so that you may go free.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.”

“For this is the record, that God has given us eternal life. He that has the Son of God, has life, he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

Dreams are an interesting topic and spirits have been known to be present in dreams. Angels have also revealed themselves in everyday presence. Dreams may also be used in spiritual testing. The dream might be deceptive or true. Discernment and fellowship with God is required in all things.

Dreams are discernible from visions. Visions are typically associated with when we are wide awake, but then perceiving a 'vision' of a spiritual condition.

Some dreams do involve our memory (most to many recallable dream instances, by identity, use our memory and might be recalled in a waking moment.

I’m with you, buddy. I’ve had similar experiences that I simply can’t explain rationally. In one dream, an older woman and I were sitting at a table, and she gave me permission to marry her daughter “now that I know she’ll be taken care of.” My description of the old woman fit the description of my then-girlfriend’s mother, whom I had never seen, not even in a photograph. The mother died a few days later, thousands of miles away.

My son visited me in a dream years before he was conceived; the dream was so powerful I bolted out of bed. The description matched the child who arrived many years later.

When my wife and I chat on the Internet using instant messenger, we’ll often answer questions before they’ve been posted on our side of the screen. We call it “cross thoughts.” Since it’s online, the cross thoughts are also preserved. What’s that all about?

I’ve also dreamed about places I’ve lived in before arriving there.

My father claimed to have dreamt about the death of a close friend the moment it happened on a highway 50 miles away, forcing him into screaming wakefulness. My mother witnessed it, too.

I don’t have a clue about the mechanisms at work here. I feel a lot like some ancient human wondering about static electricity and the tides when I think about it, though. Somewhere we’ll discover what’s going on. All I know is that we actually see, feel, touch, or experience very little of what is actually going on in the universe, and it would be best to keep an open mind about whatever is happening.

John 14:2
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

I am of the Spirit presently engaged in a human existence.

Parallel universes are open to all; not just Christians.

Dreams are different from what I call ‘Visitations’

The readings of Edgar Cayce ( a devout Christian) provide the most fascinating glimpses of our other dimensions.

I believe there are Great Universities and Minds in these parallel worlds that implant ideas into ours. It is more likely that UFO’s come from brief breakthroughs in parallel universes than from remote planets.

I have had a loving ‘Visitation’ that cured me of an affliction I had for 15 years. I am certain of it.
