Many have claimed the federal government was playing fast and loose with the rules surrounding its takeover of General Motors and the circumstances surrounding the selection of which dealerships would remain open and those that wouldn't. Fox News' Gretchen Carlson came forward with evidence of this through a personal account of dealership closings.
Carlson, a co-host on the Fox News Channel's morning show "Fox & Friends," appeared on Glenn Beck's June 9 program and questioned the logic behind the decision reached by the government and General Motors (GM) to close down a dealership that has been in her family for 90 years.
"I'd like to get a hold of the car czar too," Carlson said. "Never did I think personally that I would need to get a hold of him, but now I do because my parents have owned a General Motors dealership in Anoka, Minn., for 90 years and they were terminated last week and they would like to know why. They would like to know why from the car czar."

I read somewhere that the dealerships that were closed down were almost all Republican donors.

She had her folks on Fox and Friends a couple of weeks ago. Lovely people. This just makes my blood boil at what they are doing to families and the communities.
These businesses not only employ folks.....they also donate to their local communities and many ways.
Just the modus operandi, throwing people under the bus, don’t you get it?

83% of all dealer closings were donors to the republican party. What’s even worse is that there are at least two cases where, in an area of 6-7 dealerships, all the republican donors had their dealerships closed but the one democrat donor was allowed to stay open.

Most dealers in our area are close buddies...The ones that shut down will just go work for/with a buddy. It’s been like that for years.
Is that who Glenn Beck is interviewing now (her parents, that is)?

Then she wound up at Fox, I would say this is retribution.
Originally her family dealership sold buggies and wagons. My husbands family had one of those too.
when the need for buggies, harnesses and saddles went away they had a gasoline station.
