Black Man LOVES Racist Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 05/30/2009 11:42:50 AM PDT by Lloyd Marcus

Like global warming, swine flu and everything else wrong in the world, racist, sexist and homophobe, Rush Limbaugh is largely responsible for who I am today. In 1993, I had a great job as Art Dept. supervisor at an ABC affiliate TV station in Baltimore. The same station where Oprah was co-host on our morning show, years earlier.

While minding my own business, my favorite radio talk show host was replaced with Rush Limbaugh. I thought, “Who is this wise guy?” A week later, I was hooked.

Unapologetic, Rush courageously and boldly said everything I felt. Rush became my HERO! At that time, middle aged folks were being let go because of company down-sizings. The ever optimistic Rush, encouraged folks to view their termination as a opportunity to pursue their dreams. HR had just awarded me my 15 years of service “gold pin”. I had 15 more years to go to retire. Inspired by Rush, I told my wonderful wife, I wanted to quit my job to pursue a music career full time. My amazing wife said, “Let's go for it!”

We were broke for the next 15 years. Five years ago, we were homeless. However, as weird as this may sound, we are grateful for our incredible journey. We grew from whiny kids, to grateful adults. We learned to trust God for EVERYTHING! Today, we are living our dreams. Awesome!

None of this would have happened had I not been inspired and encouraged to believe in myself and the greatness of America by Rush Limbaugh.

Something else I truly admire about Rush is his courage to stand up for what he believes. Case in point. When his fans tried to pressure Rush into supporting Ross Perot, Rush said, “There's something not right about this guy”. Rush was right.

Folks, Rush especially, but you can include Hannity and Beck, are getting pretty beat up by the media, dems and even republicans. It is extremely critical that we stand by these guys. We need these brave patriot generals, if we are to win this battle against secular progressives and America hating leftists who seek to remake America in their own vile image.

Let's continually let Rush, Hannity and Beck know, “Hang in the brothers, WE GOT YOUR BACKS!”

I truly feel that Rush is “talent, on loan from God”. He is a Christian. Whether he attends church, or plays golf on Sunday, he is doing God’s work here on earth.

God is bringing this nation to its knees. Rush, if he can awaken our “leaders” will be the one to help bring us back to “one nation, under God”, where we should be.

Thank you. I’ve been a Rushie since ‘95. Before that, I called my self a conservative democrat. Now, I’m just a Conservative.

Taxes and overburdening rules and laws are killing this country. It’s time for change, all right. It’s time to rule from the bottom (of the, by the, for the people), NOT the top (bureaucrats and power mongers).

I wish Rush would say a little more and go a little farther, but he does a great job of nibbling at the edges of our nation's problems.

I was going to disagree with you overall, but your list of issues stopped me - you're right, and those are very important items. That said, I would still disagree with the word "nibble" because of its strong trivializing effect. Rush, despite his flaws and significant omissions, is not trivial - his choice of topics is pretty regularly deep. I think, however, that he is subject to restraints few know about and even less acknowledge. As a result, he has to hit where he can, and keep his ammo dry for the rest.

OK...I agree with you. He has been a **powerful** force for moving conservativism forward. We are better off as a nation because of him.

20 million is very significant. What proportion is 20 million of the number who actually vote?

Also,...Of the 300 million we must subtract: Children, those who don’t vote, those who are mentally retarded, or senile.

20 Million is really a rather important part of what remains.

Excellent testimonial. Thanks for the post.

I found myself not liking Rush before I ever heard him complete a thought. That’s because I only heard what my father preached, or what the mainstream media had to say.

Even after I shunned my father and became an extreme right-wing nut after college, I still found myself with this notion that he was a know-it-all ahole. It’s not like I had a choice of who to listen to for many of those years, but the thoughts about Rush were still there in the back of my mind.

Until one day several years ago, I decided to listen whenever I got a few minutes that day. That first day I couldn’t believe that I had actually allowed others to characterize him. Never again.

“The same station where Oprah was co-host on our morning show, years earlier.”

It is good the “ghost of Oprah” did not have any influence over you.....it is obvious you left that job with all your brain cells intact....

I love hearing your story and the encouragement Rush gave you and countless others. He has made me cry at times because he can really touch my heart.....

Rush is a brilliant man and great patriot.....God bless him and the conservative voice......

Contrast Rush’s great message of possibilities to the message of grief, despair, and lowered expectations coming from the current crop of liberal commencement speakers. Which should the students hear? /rhetorical

DNC is far more racist than even the KKK.

Byrd and the recent appointment confirm this.

RUSH is but a warm lovable Fuzzball in comparison to any demo cart.

I am not saying 20 million is an insignificant number, but there are so many politically illiterate Democrat voters out there who aren’t really liberals but they have never been exposed to another viewpoint. They hear all these cliches on TV and then on election day go out and flip the lever for Democrats thinking Democrats are the party of the “good”.

I believe, in fact I am sure, that a significant number - significant enough to tip the electoral balance permanently, of these politically illiterate Democrat voters would change their minds if they heard the truth and learned to think for themselves. The liberals are aware of this too, hence the all out effort to malign Rush and keep them from tuning in without even knowing what he really stands for.

Back to the 20 million. Keep in mind a large number of them are Rush haters. They DESPISE the man but cannot help listening to him, which works just fine for Rush because he is in the business of ratings, not getting votes.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That's what happens when there is universal suffrage.

Our Founding Fathers restricted the vote to landholding **men** for a reason.

Our slide into socialism ( and now Marxism) began with allowing women to vote, elimination of literacy tests, and (earlier) the requirement to be a landowner.

If there is anyone on board here who is a 24-7 Rush subscriber, it would be great to e-mail this thread to Rush so that he could read some of these great comments. Thanks.

Democrats are the enemies of liberty, including civil rights.

I still listen to Rush, despite his inability to talk about the birth certificate. And Levin, Hannity, Beck.

Great rant!

Unfortunately, far too many blacks STILL fail to hold the Democrat party responsible for the near-total obliteration of the urban black family unit, and they continue to elect the same people, over and over.

It’s great to see another black man join the growing list of thinking heroes like Tom Sowell, Walter Williams, Vernon Robinson, Shelby Steele, etc., etc.

Hannity’s radio show is 3 hour ad for his TV show, which is a 1 hour ad for his latest book.

The last time I had the misfortune of listening to Hannity, it was a neverending stream of “I” and “freedom concert.”
