SOME of Americas leading billionaires have met secretly to consider how their wealth could be used to slow the growth of the worlds population and speed up improvements in health and education.
The philanthropists who attended a summit convened on the initiative of Bill Gates, the Microsoft co-founder, discussed joining forces to overcome political and religious obstacles to change.
Described as the Good Club by one insider it included David Rockefeller Jr, the patriarch of Americas wealthiest dynasty, Warren Buffett and George Soros, the financiers, Michael Bloomberg, the mayor of New York, and the media moguls Ted Turner and Oprah Winfrey.
These members, along with Gates, have given away more than £45 billion since 1996 to causes ranging from health programmes in developing countries to ghetto schools nearer to home.
They gathered at the home of Sir Paul Nurse, a British Nobel prize biochemist and president of the private Rockefeller University, in Manhattan on May 5. The informal afternoon session was so discreet that some of the billionaires aides were told they were at security briefings.
Stacy Palmer, editor of the Chronicle of Philanthropy, said the summit was unprecedented. We only learnt about it afterwards, by accident. Normally these people are happy to talk good causes, but this is different maybe because they dont want to be seen as a global cabal, he said.
(snip)
Why all the secrecy? They wanted to speak rich to rich without worrying anything they said would end up in the newspapers, painting them as an alternative world government, he said.

What worries me is that the meeting was held at the home of a Nobel-winning BIOCHEMIST. Whats a biochemist up to with a bunch of no-goodniks like Turner and the rest?

INDEED . . . to the max.
Fellatio does not lead to pregnancy.
Cheers!
He is coming up with an effective solution like Zyklon B.
As for the billionaires, they are really into Marxist Class Warfare from an unusual angle.
>>> As for the billionaires, they are really into Marxist Class Warfare from an unusual angle. <<<
Nah, they’re into power and control and maintaining THEIR status quo — the usual angle.
This den of vipers should be called The Flesh Eating Society. Good Club, my tail.
I laugh at the people here believing these people are altruistic. What a bunch of trolls.
Ted Turner was a fanatical supporter of the Soviet Union. He has never met a communist dictator he didn’t like, from Ortega to Castro. He’s the epitome of the super elite Marxists that run this country. Trust him. Yeah, sure.
Leaving aside the initial band of Eastern European immigrants at the turn of the century, the Marxists in the US have ALWAYS been from the upper classes; back in the 30s, a lot of them were from old money and old families, now they’re new money.
I think you could probably speculate that the new money (Gates, for example) was recruited through the foundations of the older money (Ford, Rockefeller, etc.).
It was also true in England that the Marxists were virtually always from upper class families - remember Kim Philby and the gang?
They have never heard of Rowe vs Wade ?
Yeah, let’s kill a bunch of little people so they won’t have to be around us so much.
BINGO!
Maybe they are pushing certain religions. Lots of people want us to abort, abort, abort. Yeah, abort us out of oblivion.
We need a website called "Where in the World is?" to keep track of people like Bill Gates and David Rockefeller and Barney Frank and Chucky Schumer so that when the collapse comes we can find them to let them know how much their efforts are appreciated.
FIRST: Your statement does not affect the fact that these billionaires are acting rationally when attempting to reduce population growth by means of greater prosperity, etc. After all, they could hardly call for increased famine and civil unrest as a solution to alleged overpopulation.
On the whole, their logic is reasonable. (I make NO STATEMENT about my opinion on its political aspects.)
SECOND: Your statement is valid only given EXTREME (Armageddon-like) conditions - conditions not found in the bulk of the countries in which these billionaires might wish to enact their policies or launch their programs.
On the other hand, a sudden increase in prosperity will reduce mortality much faster than it changes reproductive habits.
I believe that this is pure speculation on your part. I namely don't believe that there are any historical precedents for it in recent times, in "normal" countries. On the contrary, evidence indicates that reproductive patterns and habits can change very quickly (resulting in fewer offspring) when economic conditions improve. It is impossible for me to debate your statement's validity without a more-rigorous formulation and definition of terms (like "sudden").

______________
I was wondering the same thing. Especially since Turner once said something to the effect that if he died, he would like to come back as a deadly incurable virus.
The difference is that these guys are not running around with a tin cup asking someone else to raise them.. Actually they are helping raise millions.
Perfect, that is what I thought of your statement as well.
Yes! Great idea! Let’s all die and leave the world to these complete morons. I wonder what they’ll do with their money then? Whom will they impress? Whom will the lord it over? What will anything be worth when there are only a dozen or so d**kwads left here?
How can they be so stupid? People are our wealth, our greatest riches. If these nincompoops and their forbears hadn’t bought into and backed, for the past 100 years, the most destructive way of ordering society in the history of mankind, perhaps the United States Model from the Constitution would have spread around the world instead. In which case, the entire world would be as rich and happy as we were until the Marxists starting cheating and lying their way into our lives and destroying the fabric of our society.
If this story is true, these people are beneath contempt. All that money, and not two brain cells to rub together among the lot of them.
