Is Anyone Working On Anti National Health Care Commercials?
Vanity Question

Posted on 05/14/2009 8:38:32 AM PDT by Williams

Commercials against Hilary Care were absolutely essential for its defeat. Now, Obama is talking about pushing through a huge national healthcare bill by August! The stories I read make it clear the plan will be a frightening blow to our health and economy.

Do we know if anyone is working on an ad campaign to expose the obvious dangers of socialized medicine? We need the House dems from conservative districts to be scared away from this awful nonsense.

My wife, a cancer survivor, literally keeps telling me they are going to kill her. Apoparently she has heard reports of how they will decide if your life is worth the cost of treatment. Everyone should know there will be fewer MRI's, longer waits, etc.

The government is claiming it wants to "lower costs", undoubtedly because polls show that is what people want to hear. But they are also saying they need to raise huge amounts of money! Huge new taxes to support the supposedly "lower costs" is an oxymoron.

We have the greatest healthcare on earth. They are not planning to lower costs, they are not planning to improve care. They are planning to reduce care and spread that inferior level of care to everyone.

Back to my original question, do we know if anyone is working on a major ad campaign? I have some ideas is there a place to direct them?

I think they will wait for a clearer definition of what the legislation will look like before acting. I know one outfit is running general ads now.

I do have an idea:

Focus in on a cigarette smoking, meth using, obese guy sitting on a couch drinking beer.

Explain that all hospitals MUST treat this guy, for emergency care, NOW.

Explain that bankruptcy is the right course, and often an honorable course, for anyone who finds that they can not pay their medical bills.

Then ask if ALL of us should pay thousands of dollars more, every year, in taxes, so obese drug addicts and alcoholics can have the SAME health insurance as those who WORK FOR A LIVING and LIVE A RESPONSIBLE LIFE!

First, the Dems are waiting for resolution to Minnesota’s Senate Race. If Franken wins, they have the magical 60 votes and can ram anything down our throats they want.

Second, tell your wife to not worry. Even if they push this through, it will take years before the real rationing takes place. Until then, they will play the public for fools by telling you that you can keep your current insurance or join the national plan.

After they tax your insurance (raising its cost), you will get less benefits. The national plan will look great for both employer and employee.

Slowly, they will starve the health insurance industry out of existence as millions switch to the national plan.....many will have no choice as their employers will join.

This will take years. Once most private insurance is run out of business, then the gov’t can start cutting benefits so they have money for other things.....like HPV immunizations that will be mandatory under national care. Oh, there will always be AIDS treatments and other STD treatments to ensure deviancy is supported.

We could get these started on YouTube. Interviews with people living in Britan and Canada. These could be easily (and cheaply done.) I have no doubt there are plenty of people in both Britan and Canada mad enough about their health car system that they would be willing to help us.

Want to know how universal health car works, listen and learn.

My name is John Smith and I live in Lancaster, England. I was diagnosed with cancer. The government doctors told me they wouldn’t treat my cancer because they couldn’t spend that much money on someone my age. With treatment, I would probably live another 5-10 years. The doctors told me I will die in less than 8 months because they can’t treat me.

Want to know how universal health car works, listen and learn.

My name is Jane Doe and I live in Ottawa, Canada. My general practitioner found a problem with my heart. He said if I don’t get surgery within the month I will die. He had me make an appointment with a heart specialist who could perform the surgery. The earlist appointment I could schedule is 18 months from today.

That's an excellent idea! I saw one of those damned pro-national health care commercials on TV this a.m. & thought the same thing!

I had my TV on mute the other day and I looked up and saw a commercial that showed Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, I assumed it was a commercial that showed the side affects of National Health Care.

If these would go viral they would have a huge impact.

I'm jumping in head first, but I'm ready to do something. I have some basic video editing skills (ulead studio) which is good enough to produce something like this for YouTube consumption.

Where would I get a source of interviews? Either someone in Canada or Britan to do the interviews, or people filiming themselves. Regular video camera quality is good enough. If I could get the interview material, I could edit it easily (and quickly) enough.

I've been looking for someway to make an impact since I attended the Tea Party. This could be it.

Yes,that's good. But they'd have to be backed up by newspaper headlines and stats.I remember being in Florida a few years ago and seeing a Toronto newspaper there (which isn't unusual...lots of Canadians spend the winter in FL).The headline read something like "2,000 Ontario Cancer Patients Sent To US For Treatment".The story went on to say that if these patients were required to remain within the Canadian health system they would have had to have waited months (can't remember how many months) for their treatment to begin once a diagnosis was made.

Some anti-national health “care” ads should point out the government’s track record of Social Security and Medicare.

If they cant run those programs, how can we as a nation expect the new Sambo Chavez plan for Health Care to be any more successful???

Will they have the national firepower to air ads everywhere when needed? I hope so.

No, it should be simple and stright-forward.

There are plenty of stories already out there that tell about the shortages/problems with health care in Britan and Canada. They aren’t sinking in.

I has to be personal. A one on one invertiew will make people think “that could be me.”

The problem with presenting personal stories *only* is that for every such ad that we run,Hussein can run one from some clown saying "oh,dear...I owe my very life to the British (or Canadian) government health system."

A newspaper headline like the one I mentioned, for example, would be very powerful when shown at the end of an ad in which a Brit/Canadian has just told a horror story about waiting 18 months for a hip replacement or 3 months for his/her cancer treatment to be started.

I would like to see some ads making fun of the government, you know have the doctors office run like the DMV, everyone with a crappy attitude like they are doing you a favor by being their, they all go to break at the same time, close at 4 o’clock

endless possibilities
