But it already is being condemned as unconstitutional, unrealistic and probably ineffectual.

Then, why are they trying?

It's like deja vu' all over again. The similarities between the New Direction America and the old Third Reich are "chilling."

...substantial emotional distress.

I have never understood how it possibly be objectively determined who has and has not undergone "substantial emotional distress." I always thought that such a determination was entirely subjective. But hey, not only are Libs right on all the issues but they're mind readers as well.

“Bullying” would include any criticism of the Obama Administration, the Democratic Congressmen, policies of the Democratic party, and liberal judges. Also bans criticism of of Democratic officials on the state and local level (unless they are too conservative).

BTW Greens, Socialists, other leftists, and Muslims are exempt from this policy.

When Linda Sanchez literally stole her district from B-1 Bob many Republicans shrugged, like Atlas, and walked away because they were embarrassed, they thought B-1 Bob was crazy in his excessive patriotism and his obsessive attachment to the military.

One might now properly ask, who is more crazy B-1 Bob or Sanchez? One need not ask which one is more dangerous.

So does that mean that all those lefty sites trashing Palin, Rush etc. would be considered bullies? I think their hate and vitriol would cause emotional distress - who would want those nutjobs coming after you!?

"If passed, this legislation could be easily abused with the effect of criminalizing all criticism. You probably couldn't even criticize the legislation itself because it would cause Sen. Sanchez emotional distress or possibly be considered a form of intimidation."

Or criticize Barry (Totus, The Kenyan, The Commie)...oops just did. Will they come arrest me now?

It is 1984. Why let something as inconsequential and irrelevant as the US Constitution get in the way of newspeak?

One of the best attributes of the Internet is that it allows anyone with a computer and a connection to join in on discussions and critiques of events, policies or just fun stuff like model trains, etc.

It also allows us to put up a web page on anything we want and invite others to view it and react to it. It is like the old days where a guy like Ben Franklin and his printing press reached out and affected people.

Sure a lot of comments and pages are dreck, but so what. So too with comments that may be over critical or down right mean, so what - we can just say “jerk” in our head and click away to another site or forum. Here at FR we are blessed with many intelligent posters. That’s why so many of us read and participate.

This censorship and criminal penalty deal is wrong and not what our founding fathers would have wanted to see us adopt now. America is freedom and freedom to be rude is as OK as to be learned and insightful.

coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress

And who is going to make these interpretations? It sounds like if this bill gets passed... everyone who posted on FR is going to jail because all of us at one time or another disagreed with OBAMA!

Substantial emotional distress is kinda like pornography, you can’t define it, but you know it when you see it. /s

the bill states, “Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a person, using electronic means to support severe, repeated, and hostile behavior, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”

Hmm, seems there’s plenty of room in there for creative interpretation. These democrats are not only bullies, they are cry babies. And with all their activist cry baby judges in place, it doesn’t take much imagination to see how this would play out.

There comin to take me away haha hehe hoho
