Montana Governor Signs New Gun Law-(DARES Obama To Challenge it!)
Gather ^ | 5-5-09 | George W.

The state of Montana has signed into power a revolutionary gun law. I mean REVOLUTIONARY.

The State of Montana has defied the federal government and their gun laws. This will prompt a showdown between the federal government and the State of Montana . The federal government fears citizens owning guns. They try to curtail what types of guns they can own. The gun control laws all have one common goal - confiscation of privately owned firearms.

Montana has gone beyond drawing a line in the sand. They have challenged the Federal Government. The fed now either takes them on and risks them saying the federal agents have no right to violate their state gun laws and arrest the federal agents that try to enforce the federal firearms acts. This will be a world-class event to watch.

Montana could go to voting for secession from the union, which is really throwing the gauntlet in Obama's face. If the federal government does nothing they lose face. Gotta love it.

Important Points - If guns and ammunition are manufactured inside the State of Montana for sale and use inside that state then the federal firearms laws have no applicability since the federal government only has the power to control commerce across state lines. Montana has the law on their side. Since when did the USA start following their own laws especially the constitution of the USA , the very document that empowers the USA .

Silencers made in Montana and sol in Montana would be fully legal and not registered. As a note silencers were first used before the 007 movies as a device to enable one to hunt without disturbing neighbors and scaring game. They were also useful as devices to control noise when practicing so as to not disturb the neighbors.

Silencers work best with a bolt-action rifle. There is a long barrel and the chamber is closed tight so as to direct all the gases though the silencer at the tip of the barrel. Semi-auto pistols and revolvers do not really muffle the sound very well except on the silver screen. The revolvers bleed gas out with the sound all over the place. The semi-auto pistols bleed the gases out when the slide recoils back.

Silencers are maybe nice for snipers picking off enemy soldiers even though they reduce velocity but not very practical for hit men shooting pistols in crowded places. Silencers were useful tools for gun enthusiasts and hunters.

There would be no firearm registration, serial numbers, criminal records check, waiting periods or paperwork required. So in a short period of time there would be millions and millions of unregistered untraceable guns in Montana . Way to go Montana !

Oh my! Montana ignoring precedent? Why is that a matter when the Feds are doing the mexican hat dance on the constitution and on every principle this country was founded on?

You cant have it both ways.

A socialist dictatorship is being finalized. It certainly will not stand in the long run. And it will probably not be decided in a courtroom. It will either be an angry vote, or an angry revolt that stops it.

You are simply not seeing the Montana law for what it truly means.

Exactly right, and furthermore, if this movement continues and Texas passes it, then more states will follow suit. A single state cant stand up against the socialists, but 2/3 of them sure as hell can. And I believe, they will. What is there now, 26 of the states that are declaring sovereignty? Half and still moving, Barry and the Thugs had better not be ignoring we the people.

-- Has there ever been US states in recent times that have decided to go against the federal government? --

Yes. Medical marijuana,. California lost on commerce clause grounds. (Raich)

SCOTUS ordered the 9th Circuit to "reconsider" [Read -"uphold"] the 1934 NFA via application of Raich. (Stewart)

This Montana law is grandstanding boob-bait for suckers. Same for the effort in Texas. Ask the sponsoring legislators to address the cases I cited here, and find out how un-serious the state yokels are. If they don't know these cases and have a specific plan to surmount them, they aren't serious.

If you want an example of the Mainstream media IGNORING and burying important news that doesn't fit thier pre-set agenda, THIS IS IT. And to top it off, this Governor is a DEMOCRAT.

LOL - They'd know what to do if it was a Republican - they'd call him a hater - and a "right wing" extremists.

But the gov's a dem.

What choice do they have? The MSM can't trash a dem - and they can't back what he's doing - so their left with the obvious: silence.

Crickets.

If they stand alone they cant fight it, but it sends a very strong message, however as I just mentioned if other states follow suit, 2/3 of the states can do anything they dam well please.

You just dont get it. Addressing those cases is playing on their court. These laws like Montanas are a clear statement that the state is CLAIMING its lawful 10th amendment rights.

In essence, the state is arguing with the feds. The feds examine the argument in THEIR courts and say, “we win”.

The states simply do not care what those federal rulings say, because those rulings conflict with their States rights as clearly written into the US Constitution. A ruling from a federal court will not be the last word now.

And all of this wouldnt be needed if Obama would clearly, with no artful wording, state that he will NOT sign ANY new gun laws. HIS clear move to dictatorship is the cause of this, so the answer is not to be found in a federal precedent.

I believe that the only true silent weapon is a firearm designed with a silencer function as an integral part of the weapon, not as an add on to the end of a barrel.

Actually, even those must obey the laws of physics, and make some noise.

I didn’t see anything about crew served belt feed weapons in this bill, I suppose Texas will correct that oversight.

Actually it has been tried here a few times and individuals trying have been told they “don't have standing” so I guess people are still looking for a test case.

-- You just dont get it. --

Maybe not. But there is no harm whatsoever in asking the state legislators how they plan to defend their citizens against the FEDs, and in particular against case law that holds in favor of federal supremacy.

-- In essence, the state is arguing with the feds. --

Talk is cheap. Not that I object to the sentiment, I applaud it. But it's sentiment and no more. I don't advance my vote to sentimentalists. Either they are effective actors, or they are worth spit.
