Unlike Romney's "National Council for a New America," Free Republic is a conservative site!
Refer to Romney's Council for a New American Socialist State formed in HIS Image ^ | May 2, 2009 | Jim Robinson

I'm going to try one more time to explain what FR is all about.

Free Republic is a conservative site. That does not necessarily mean it is a Republican site. In fact there may be many Republicans we don't support and some Republican issues we cannot agree with.

I'll throw in Arlen Specter as a prime example of a Republican we cannot support. Should be obvious to all why not. Should also be just as obvious to all that we cannot support Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain and his lap dog Lindsay Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, et al.

Some of the issues we cannot support as conservatives even though sometimes initiated by so-called Republicans include TARP, or any kind of government bailout of private enterprise, federal intrusion into free markets, federalized education systems, government provided or controlled health care systems, abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, global warming, gun control, etc.

I guess there is more than one definition of conservatism floating around out there, and this won't be text book, but the one we use involves defending, preserving and protecting our constitution, our unalienable rights, our traditional family values, our American heritage, our nation, our borders and our sovereignty.

We aggressively defend our rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!

We aggressively defend our rights to freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to keep and bear arms, right to due process, right to equality under the law, right to be governed under the rule of law, right to constitutionally limited government, right to corruption free government, right to self-government and our private property rights, etc.

We also aggressively defend our right to state and local government for all issues not expressly delegated to the central government by the constitution.

We aggressively defend our rights to free markets and our rights to live our lives free of government intrusion, interference, coercion, force, or abuse of any kind.

We aggressively defend our rights to national sovereignty, state sovereignty and individual sovereignty!

And this definition also includes aggressively fighting against all enemies foreign and domestic who may try to deprive us of our rights or sovereignty. This would obviously include all foreign enemies, but also we defend against RINOS, Democrats, liberals, socialists, Marxists, communists, militant feminists or homosexualists, radical environmentalists, etc, etc, etc.

And we expect our elected representatives to also aggressively defend our rights and fight against all enemies foreign and domestic. We do not elect people and send them to DC or our state capitals, etc, to reach across the aisles or to be bipartisan or to negotiate or compromise away our rights. If you're not going to aggressively fight for us, and for our rights, STAY OUT!!

We bow to no king but God!

Our God-given unalienable rights are NOT negotiable!

Do NOT Tread on US!

Thank you very much!

Video - Ronaldus Maximus Reagan - his prophetic words ring true today! Scroll to 1:40 for him speaking. Very special Fox News tribute after his death follows. (Tissue alert)

"The cause .. the cause goes on."

We FIGHT ON!

I already told you. Ron Paul went to bed with the treasonous 911 truthers and lobbied against defending America when we were clearly attacked by foreign powers. That automatically rules him out of any consideration whatsoever for the position of commander-in-chief.

Giuliani won’t be running for prez. Rumors are he may be running for NY Gov. I sure hope so! If anyone has a problem w/that - too bad. NO conservative will ever run in NY. Hoping he will run and win. But he will have two opponents - whoever is the ‘rat candidate and voter fraud.

I voted for John McCain

I voted for him too (not much choice was there)? I'd have a fat billfold if I had $1.00 from everyone who told me they voted for McCain because he was the lesser of two evils.

If McCain had won, we'd have even more of his liberal daughter to contend with. There's got to be a reason conservatives were meant to dig deep and locate a candidate for the next election who actually can handily WIN. At the rate things are going now, it shouldn't be difficult. People are already beginning to look for change to the change they got.

If conservative leaders don't begin to show some gumption against what's going on politically today, they'll have absolutely NO credibility with voters down the line. The GOP is like a weathervane (turning this direction and that). Right now we need someone "Constitutionally conservative" to steer the course straight ahead and not be sidetracked or silenced. The progressive right has merged with the left - and that direction is where we are now.

not a disagreement. get a Reagan and we are a shoo in, come 2012.

Duncan Hunter was a nobody right up till the primaries and then people said WHO?

I don't know if you knew this but Ronald Reagan use to be a Movie Star...then was Governor of California...Duncan Hunter was very popular in his district... and perhaps in Free Republic and perhaps the National Review. I might even remember seeing him once on Fox. get the BEST CONSERVATIVE....but get his/her @$$ out there NOW....just like the messiah had 4 years of much hoopla before his election. You are dreaming if you think an unknown talent will win....unless and this is a big unless, the messiah falls down flat on his face....(it looks like this could happen but lets not take that chance)

Good luck on that! Doubt that the General would want the job though.

It would be quite refreshing to have someone who’s got military experience and knows how to let our miltary do their job and provide them with the right tools to get it done.

Those who think our soldiers should be used as a food delivery service or a gay pride experiment need not apply.

I got a "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN"? from the RNC.

The GOP has NOT responded to my emails making suggestions about their direction. Nothing - nada - zilch. Guess they already know which way they are going and don't need advice or direction from conservatives.

So far, this doesn’t look like a bugzapper thread for RINOs, but there’s always hope.

I traveled behind his ranch in 1987 by mistake. After about 10 miles in the Santa Barbara Mtns a sign posted said turn around. I didn’t and continued the next 5. I figured my sticker on the windsheild would get me by. (I had no idea ATT that it was his ranch. I miss that guy).

He wasn’t really on top to be knocked off. He never found a way to get his message out.

“I would not have voted for McCain without Palin”

So if it had been McCain/Huckabee what would you have done, stayed home, voted other party ... you can only vote for those on the ballot. It may be best, seeing the candidates, that Obama won .... maybe chemotherapy is necessary for our political condition.

“Its almost as if Conservatives need an ACORN equivalent...”

Not an equivalent, but they certainly need a counterbalance in terms of organization, cohesion, and the various kinds of effort involved.

precisely.....the reason we cant do an ACORN is because ACORN is/was a criminal organization that no one will investigate.
