After a lifetime of public service and a painful illness, Jack Kemp has died.
Our prayers are with his family.
Jack Kemp was a good man, always looked on the bright side and didn’t have a mean thing to say about anybody. The only time he really strayed was when him and Bill Bennett crusaded in California AGAINST Prop 187, apparently believing that Californians should continue to be forced to hand over their wallets to illegal aliens.
But other than that, Kemp was a real American patriot and a genuine good guy.
May he rest in peace and may God comfort his family.
Sorry to hear, my Uncle played with him on the Bills way back when.
Great last paragraph from that article:
"[Marlin] Fitzwater wrote in his memoirs about a time when Kemp lunged at Secretary of State James Baker III in the Oval Office. The housing secretary was "nagging, nagging, nagging" Bush to recognize the breakaway Soviet satellite of Lithuania and Baker, the color rising in his face, screamed an epithet at Kemp, Fitzwater recalled. Kemp bounded across the furniture and grabbed at Baker's throat. They were pulled apart to avoid a fistfight."
Given Jack's passion, it is easy to see that happening.
I wish Kemp could have strangled that Saudi Agent Baker’s throat.
And when your trembling soul stands naked and alone before the Great White Throne, may it be your portion, my brother, to hear from him that sitteth as Judge Supreme, the welcome words:
"Well done! Good and faithful servant! Enter thou in, the Kingdom of thy Lord."
God bless. Condolences to the family and friends of this good man.
George the elder was a forced pick.....there were shenanigans.....Georgie porgie came out of nowhere to be the vp......there was some kind of fix IMO.....
and with George the elder, we got George the younger....both globalist...
God bless you Mr. Kemp.....thankyou for your service, and may you rest on your laurels in heaven..
RIP, Jack Kemp.
RIP Mr Kemp.
Reflect on what the Bushes did to the US and what others like Kemp may have done if given a chance.
What might have been.........
Thank you for your thoughtful, informative post.
I remember Drudge gained a lot credibility by being first with the Kemp VP announcement.
Tonight he doesn’t even have a mention of Kemp’s death.
RIP. Prayers for his family. He was a good man.
I saw him do the same thing to Patricia Schroeder. He mopped up the floor with her so badly (though with good manners), that I almost felt sorry for her.
Unfortunately, that was not the Jack Kemp who showed up to debate Algore in 1996. I don't think Kemp's heart was in that run.
I couldn't agree more. I expected him to eviscerate algore, but I was shocked when he appeared to just be mailing it in - a sensation I felt again with Fred Thompson in 2008. And he would have made a great running mate for Bush the elder and an even better one for Reagan......

I recall a brief mention of Kemp for The Obama's Cabinet, then it was announced that he was quite ill.
Very appropriate. Thank you.
Thank you for the Ping, Uglybiker. This is sad news. Prayers extended.
May he rest in peace and may God Comfort and Bless his family in their time of need.
He was a man who walked the walk and not just talked the talk. as someone of mixed race, I really appreciate more conservatives who are not afraid to speak to minorities about why liberal policies have failed minorities so much. Don’t think it’s all for naught.
