Okaloosa County, Fla:
Two Okaloosa Sheriff’s Deputies and the suspect they were attempting to arrest are dead after an incident that started in Okaloosa County and ended in Walton County.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office tells News 13 law enforcement had been looking for the suspect, Joshua Cartwright, 28 of Fort Walton Beach, for his possible involvment in a domestic abuse case. Deputies got a tip that Cartwright was at the Shoal River Gun Club in Crestview. When they arrived and confronted him, investigators say he engaged officers in a shootout.

Very sad. This is at least the third multiple-fatality incident involving police officers from around the country this year alone. What's going on?

I was born and raised in Walton County and am familiar with the places mentioned. I have stopped by the Shoal River Gun Club on occasion.
I have heard more than once that domestic disputes are the most dangerous type of events to deal with.

In the case of the Pittsburgh shooter, it seems as though some want to make their fears of gun restrictions/confiscations a self-fulfilling prophecy.

What's going on? The perception that race/culture based protected classes have "mitigating" circumstances and justified hatred for American society/culture.
Deterioration of moral and ethical quality of political leaders.
Deterioration of moral and ethical quality of police upper management.
MSM disinformation and propaganda.
Deliberate destruction of immigration and border security.
Ignorance and apathy of Joe Ordinary citizen.

I have heard more than once that domestic disputes are the most dangerous type of events to deal with. This is very true. Even the guy in PGH was originally a domestic violence call (IIRC, he had been threatening his mother).

Yes, that’s correct.

NEVER, never go to a gun club to arrest a perp. Wait for him to leave.

Geez, that’s what I thought too. Note to future officers: Do not arrest people at gun clubs/ranges.

OK Where’s all the usual freeper cop bashing?

Yeah... I feel bad for the Deputies families, but that sounds like a bit of a "no brainer".
Wait until he's shot up all of his ammo, then arrest him on his way out. Anything he had with him would have been cased and in the process of being loaded into his vehicle.

Yes, it appears they didn’t learn from the David Koresh fiasco.

"
Yes, it appears they didnt learn from the David Koresh fiasco." You mean that Wesley Clark came in with his tanks and burned these guys to death? The article doesn't say that.

No.
That the BATF/LE could have grabbed him on one of his regular trips to town. Instead they opted for what was to become a standoff at the compound. The rest is history.

This report says they used a taser on the suspect before he opened fire.
Why would they do that?
