I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.
I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.
Please give the location and number of participants.
I'll go first:
Melbourne, FL - 1000.
it will edge toward a million...not bad for a first time out
Per local media sources:
Topeka, KS 1500
Hutchison, KS atleast 2,000
Wichita, KS 4,000
Overland Park, KS 10,000
Ottawa, KS 70
Kansas City, MO 4,000 (I heard on local talk radio 7,500)
Lee’s Summit, MO 300

The state that brought us Jesse Ventura has now brought us Franken. It's an embarrassment. The DFL is strong here. Lot's of folks who live like conservatives yet vote Dem because their parents or grandparents did. I am proud to say Michelle Bachmann is my representative.
The fact that a 3rd party candiate took 15% of the vote might have had something to do with it.
You think there may have been 2 million people participating?
Ping for an update.
Have we hit 1,000,000 yet?
Santa Maria, CA
head count 1,000 to 1,500 irate citizens
over twenty big rig diesel truck, one septic pumper, and the world’s largest toilet plunger
pointsal
SAn Diego had at least 4000 at the mid way post office, a huge number in El Cajon, Oceanside had thousands.. these were not on the list..I am sure others will be added as well..
Excellent article with photos here:

Super! I was very observant, so I’m sure I’ll recognize you.
Are you going to Satuday’s Independence Park party?
cheers!
Corpus Christi, TX - 800
Boston Tea Party = ~1,000
The Connecticut State Police estimated we had 5,000; my husband guessed 4,000.
3,000 or "over 1,000" (as our local FOX affiliate sniffed) was incorrect, I'm happy to report!
Ruston, Louisiana. My small home town. 100, according to the local paper.

It's only go up from there, but we will never know for sure.By the way, the unofficial estimate of yesterdays nationwide turnout has now surpassed 240,000.
And heres another estimate based on newspaper accounts: At least 250,000.
Obviously enough to say we are HERE, America has people that will fight for her future.
Many MANY people came to tea parties and it was the first time they have done so.
Also many took the day off, which pumped up the numbers significantly.
Seguin Texas 300
Gonzales Texas 200
Kerville Texas 500
I Heard 500 from a friend that went to Kerrville but he only has one good eye!
glad to hear it was more
In case you are keeping the spread sheet.
See my previous post. just up the thread.
Its just 1000 more but its more.
I was way low in the number I gave you, our paper said we had 2500 people. I saw someone standing on the bridge counting heads as people were walking by to the rally point, must have been a representative from our local paper.
