I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.
I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.
Please give the location and number of participants.
I'll go first:
Melbourne, FL - 1000.
There were certainly a lot more Tea Parties than I ever
imagined! I guess folks are really fired up! I know I am
tired of bailing out failed businesses!
IL Algonquin - 5
If that number goes up I'll let you know ;-).
The lede’s going to come from estimates, though. And the lede at the moment is “over half a million Americans”.
You’ve done a great job. Please don’t think I was
criticizing your work. I know it’s hard to even count if
you are on-site. Thanks for compiling the totals. It’s an
awesome amount of angry Americans, any way you look at it!
Decatur, Wise County, Texas - 100 - 200. Met at County Courthouse from 11:00 a.m. to Noon. Polite, respectful crowd. My son and I attended. Lots of good signs and flags.
Weatherford, Parker County Texas - Unknown number
Denton, Denton County, Texas - unknown number
No criticism taken :)
I look at these numbers and want to shout to Washington... “Can you hear us NOW????”
LOL
300-400 in Holland, MI according to local paper.
Exactly!
I wonder if Rick Santini had ANY idea what he unleashed
by his rant! LOL!
Just hope it has opened up a few eyes. My Texas Senators
took some heat today, and rightly so, for taking some of
this ill-gotten (from us!) bailout money! When will they learn!
Post your numbers, folks! Good turnouts in Oregon!
Post your numbers, folks! Good turnouts in Oregon! (Sorry I forgot Pioneer)
Thanks Henchster
I went to one of two events in Escondido, CA. It stretched four city blocks on both sides of the street. No speeches, just your basic sign-waving citizens and horn-honking passers by. Chilly and windy, but a lot of warm feelings in the crowd. Highlight was a lovely, well-dressed black family with a number of signs including one the kids had that read “only six and already bankrupt”. We had one guy in anarchist drag show up, the cops were on him in about a third of a second. When the final count comes in, we’re all going to look at each other and say, “I’ll be darned, yesterday we couldn’t even spell ‘mass movement’, now we are one”.
Same here. The very liberal news reported 'over 800' but three patrolmen and the organizer reported 1000 - 1200. I'm sure that will be the same where the local news or newspapers are liberal apologists.
We sure can’t take their word for it. They have proved themselves
to be highly partisan. I read some of the libbie comments
on the story in Duluth. They were the same DUM-o-crap
talking points that never, ever change. They will NEVER
get it!
I posted a few pages back - in ATL some estimates are up to 20000, but our local lib rag said, “1000”
Oooooo I just checked, and now their article says “thousands” They are getting a lot of heat
Heh Heh Heh.
Pioneer Square had to be 2500-3000 people at least. It was overflowing with people.
Pray for America, Our Troops and obama’s Failure
