(CNN) Did John McCain snub Sarah Palin during an appearance Mcnday on NBC's The Tonight Show?
That's what some pro-Palin bloggers and other political observers claim after the former GOP presidential candidate left out his former running mate when naming five governors who he thought were in position to lead the Republican Party.
"We have, I'm happy to say, a lot of voices out there," McCain told host Jay Leno before listing Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Utah Gov. Jim Huntsman, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.
"There are a lot of governors out there who are young and dynamic," said the Arizona senator.
McCain then quickly joked, "I've left out somebody's name and I'm going to hear about it."

Look at it like this, we pulled the lever for Governor Palin and NOT McCain. Telling myself this over and over again is the only way I can sleep at night...
They’re professional Obama-sponsored trolls at work, tasked with destroying the Palins on the web, not your average bloggers.
Thanks, VR, for confirming my suspicions. Seems there is little about these late night show appearances that is not unscripted.
Double S.O.B.
McCain is old news. Go back to bed John and thanks for your effort but you shot yourself in the ass on immigration control.
His conduct on the national stage is a gross embarrassment to the Naval Establishment.
My heart aches for the senator's father, who was a dear friend. The Admiral must be turning in his grave at the shame his egocentric (and intellectually handicapped) son continues to bring to our Republic.
Charlie Crist!!!!!!!!!!! The AC/DC Flake who was instrumental in assasinating Terri Schiavo and Who is Indistinguishable from a MOVE-ON.ORG MOONBAT! The Best thing Sarah has going for herself, Outside of Her Considerable and Fantastic Self, is that McPAIN and his wretched daughter dislike Her intensely:-)
Today, I would Vote for PLUGS BIDEN over McPAIN hands down!
I am helped in that choice today after finding ZERO HUSSEIN is “BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED IN HIS VICE PRESIDENT!” I LVE HEARING THAT! BIDEN never disappoints me:-)Biden covered ZERO by having Larry Sinclair Locked Up in Delaware on trumped up charges that were later thrown out as groundless!
Now he is a SWORD in ZERO’S BUTT!
If McPAIN had chosen Lieberman, or Gay Crist for his V.P., McPAIN wouldn’t have broken the 20% level of the general Vote! McPAIN was Abysmal, even worse than Boring Dole in 96!
Is it True that the Admiral’s son accidently dropped the bomb from his own plane onto the deck of the carrier and its explosion caused the conflaguration that Killed Hundreds of Our Brave Sailors? Did You know the Admiral personally and what was he like?
OK I may be going against the grain here....and I am NOT a fan of McCain’s, to be sure. But it was only a few weeks ago when Gov. Palin mentioned on a local radio show that she speaks with McCain “at least every week.” The last few days she’s been taking a ton of grief from Dims and Repubs in the Alaska legislature for being too focused on national affairs and her future in national politics and not being focused on Alaska, esp. since she’s going out of state to the right to life dinner in Indiana with onl a few days left of the AK legislative session (a total BS charge but the AK media has been full of it). It’s possible she wants to downplay her interest/involvement in national affairs and relayed that to McCain. Just a theory but plausible.
I still haven’t gotten the stink off me for voting for Dole in ‘96. There wasn’t a chance I was going to vote for McCain. And I couldn’t be happier I didn’t vote for the jackass. John McCain can go straight to hell, don’t pass GO, and don’t collect $200.
Holding my nose and voting for Dole was painful. It caused me to be very very careful about who I voted for after that, who supposedly came from our side of the isle.
I gave Bush a pass in 2000. I did vote for him in 2004. I gave McCain a pass.
The Republican party, the party I have supported my whole life, has left me. They haven’t deserved a vote of mine since 1992, and even papa Bush was a dedicated sellout globalist.
Thank God for Ronald Reagan. I can’t even imagine how bad it would be now without his eight years.
Yea he did the correct thing when picking her as his running mate, but then reverted to his old self and threw her under the bus for an offer he could not refuse from the empty suit.
I would advise Palin to be ‘in your face’ to the Democrats who trash her. She shouldn’t back off. She should stand her ground and display a very strong spine.
Palin isn’t the cause of John’s disloyalty. This was predicted. Some of us knew up front that John would sell out Palin at the first opportunity, and I predicted many of the party leadership would do the same thing.
Palin is too Conservative for the party movers and shakers. For that reason, they have to take her down a few notches.
McCain is a snake. That’s MO, and I base it on his actions from his youth to the present.
Seriously, folks, since he mentioned Crist as a possible frontrunner, how can you not view it as a blessing that he left Palin out of it? I don’t want Crist and Palin said in the same sentence. Thank you, Senator McCain.
Ok. Could it be that he just forgot to mention her. I know it sounds crazy and actually I can’t believe I am defending him, but I had to give a speech one day to my coworkers and bosses and I was thanking everyone for their support and low and behold I forgot to mention my boss...lol. I don’t know why it just happened. I had a bit more than five people but still. He was like Sarah...not happy. lol.
No, it's not true.
I don't why with all of the legitimate issues to hammer Juan McLame on some folks are still repeating this baldfaced lie of a story.
“Two confirmed RINOs and several questionable politicians.”
Hehe. Many would say 4 of the 5 are confirmed RINOs.
“What, McCain can’t mention any real conservatives?”
Obviously that’s not what he wants.
It doesn’t speak well for Jindal that the establishment Republicans talk him up so much. He’s up for reelection in 2011, he’d have to be awkwardly be running for President at the same time or not run for reelection. So I don’t think he’ll run in 2012, nor should he.
Yes, I hear ya. There are few prospects indeed.
This is why the ticket should have been Palin-McCain instead of the other way around.
Palin in 2012
