Fifty-seven percent (57%) of U.S. voters nationwide favor a military response to eliminate North Koreas missile launching capability. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that just 15% of voters oppose a military response while 28% are not sure. [...]
The telephone survey was conducted Friday and Saturday, April 3-4, the two days immediately prior to North Koreas launch. The question asked about a military response if North Korea actually did launch a long-range missile.
Support for a military response comes from 66% of Republicans, 52% of Democrats and 54% of those not affiliated with either major political party. There is no gender gap on the issue as a military response is favored by 57% of men and 57% of women.
(Want a free daily e-mail update? If it's in the news, it's in our polls.) Rasmussen Reports updates also available on Twitter.
Overall, 75% of voters say theyve been closely following news stories about the possible launch. That figure includes 40% whove followed the news Very Closely.
Seventy-three percent (73%) are at least somewhat concerned that North Korea will use nuclear weapons against the United States. Thats up just a few points from 69% who held that view in October 2006. Prior to that survey, North Korea had successfully conducted an underground nuclear test.
Currently, 39% are Very Concerned about a possible nuclear attack from North Korea.
Just three percent (3%) of voters view North Korea as an ally while 46% say its an enemy. Surprisingly, the latter number is down 14 points from a survey in mid-February despite North Korea's belligerent talk before the missile launch.
Forty-four percent (44%) now say North Korea is somewhere between an ally and an enemy, while eight percent (8%) are not sure.
Sixty-four percent (64%) of Republicans consider North Korea an enemy of the United States. That view is shared by 50% of unaffiliateds and 28% of Democrats. Most Democrats (57%) place North Korea somewhere between ally and enemy.
Only 27% say the United States should help North Korea rebuild its economy if it is willing to abandon its missile program. Fifty-one percent (51%) are opposed to such financial aid. These findings are largely unchanged from mid-February.

Obama is cowardly treasonous liberal.
Do you think North Korea will be content with having a million man army poised to attack the South, without ever using it?
Kim Jong-il knows Obama is weak. Obama’s solution? Combine pressure with incentives.

I was in airports yesterday and CNN was on. Just incredible. Far worse than Stalin.
Racism seeps into a lot of their broadcast like the BBC i.e. white people are evil, black people and minorities are noble.
Endless Martin Luther King, Obama, evil white bankers. Not a word that two of the worst disasters in this financial meltdown were Stan O’neil who destroyed Merrill Lynch and franklin Raines at Fannie. Both are African Americans. I am not trying to make it about race but the left and Obama already has.

There was a response. Obama called for someone to take leadership.

Well, we got what voted for - a limp-wristed threat that we were going to talk, talk, talk about it and that the North Koreans were really in trouble now and were going to go on double secret probation.

57% Want Military Response to North Korea Missile Launch
Kim Jung Il knew quite well that, with Obama and the democrats, that there would be no response. So, Kim acted while the acting is good.
Kim was emboldened with the Obama election and no doubt, Iran and Ahmadinejad will follow soon. Iran will have a nuclear bomb within the year if not sooner. And Obama will be afraid to act. Syria will be emboldened and so will Lybia which will revive its ambitions to become a nuclear power.
Japan and others will feel the threats of their neighbors acquiring the N-bomb and so, Japan and others will feel the need to build their own for defensive purpose since they won't be able to count on the U.S. anymore. Instead of a nuclear-free world like Obama says, we'll get even more countries joining the nuclear club. When the enemy perceives you as weak, and when they get that confirmed through speeches and negotiations that virtually decapitate our defenses, then the enemy knows they have an advantage which they will use to make huge gains.
With a weakened U.S., both economically and militarily, the dangers in the world will increase. Politically, there's nothing Obama can do since political power is derived mostly from economic and military strength. America is now just another country. Obama and the democrats destroyed what kept us safe and we'll soon be paying a very high-price for it.

Hopefully our allies will be emboldend too--to see to their own defense.
You cannot count of something which is no longer possible.
A weak economic power cannot defend itself. Most of what the economy produces is needed to feed and house the people. A weak economy cannot produce enough to build or maintain a military. For the last 50 years, the European countries have been able to experiment with socialism while America provided the military prowess for the EU defense.
With a weakened U.S. economy and thereby a weakened U.S. military, the Europeans might have to provide for their own defense. But, with no economic capability to build their defense departments, there will be more conflicts or wars. The enemy knows how to take advantage of a weak country.
