New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

“Any Mormons who claim religious persecution from FR are either delusional, have a hidden agenda, or are thinned skinned.”

***I have to agree! The FR management is great!***

And just a few years ago some Christians on FR were claiming that FR was deferring to the Mormons. I guess what goes around comes around.

It is frankly disgusting that, in this day and age, there are who refuse to support Romney because he is a Mormon. They should refuse to support Romney because he’s a tax-and-spend RINO.

From what I could see, most of the real reason that people opposed Romney was because he was a tax-and-spend RINO and they pointed to his record as governor of Mass in support of their stand.

However, they were mostly accused of opposing him because of his religion, no matter what the person who opposed him said and how much of his voting record and actual quotes were posted.

I opposed Romney because of his record in Mass. NOT because he was Mormon.

Hate to say it but I dislike those FReepers immensely! I guess they don't like the "freedom of religion" thing.

Wow! What irony!

So posters can say they "love Mormons with the truth" -- and that in your eyes automatically defaults them into your "dislike" category? Why? Because apparently you don't like the way they exercise their religious "freedom." And then you turn that around and say, "I guess they don't like the 'freedom of religion' thing."

So who doesn't like religious freedom again? Who's the one who's openly stated their "dislike" of certain exercised liberties of religious freedom?

Then take a look at posts from mike west and Canadianbacon007 here

I won't be a lame duck, as serious anti-Mormons plot their version of the "final solution"

I've learned that there are a lot of people out there who, if they could, would still burn down or homes and kick us out on the lone prairie. Like Greg once said, there are no more desolate mountain valleys left for us to flee to.

As a life-long Presbyterian, I can assure you that we are too uncommitted to our cause to generate the energy required to launch any attack on anyone.

Eternity is longer than life.

Get out now and return to your first love.

Revelation 2

 1.  Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
 2.  I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
 3.  And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
 4.  Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

 Matthew 19:29
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother  or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.

 Matthew 10:37-39
 37.  "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
 38.  and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
 39.  Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

 Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

"So posters can say they "love Mormons with the truth"

I'm not saying that. I just have seen many anti-Mormon threads, from so called Christians, who have spewed nothing but hatred.

Spreading the word of God is our duty. Doing it with such hatred, as I have seen, is not something I agree with, nor can stand by. That is all I was saying.

Mitt Romney's father's cousin, Marion G. Romney, as you know was an apostle and long-time LDS church general authority. In fact, Marion Romney presided over the creation of a New Zealand stake in 1958--the first one created outside of North America/Hawaii.

Have you met my cousin's boy?

He's gonna be President some day!

That is absolutely sick. I know most FReepers, even non-Mormons would stand side by side with our Mormon brothers in battle and defend them to tooth and nail when it gets down to brass tacks. They need to quit peering into their neighbors homes and judging what they say and start dealing with their own paranoia.

Our knock down drag out theological fights are all in FRiendship, even if it appears to the outside as “anti” this or that, but step over one thread and they will see we are all on the same side.

Their little ‘peeping tom’ judgment of our site just makes them (not Mormonism) look bad. I am glad I know good Mormons here on FR and in my personal life so seeing their actions aren’t the only face of that faith that I have.

Although, if I was a Mormon, I'd be pretty ticked off at a certain group of attackers who seem to exist just to attack the Mormons.

You mean like a Mormon missionary who spends 2 years full-time going around to the public -- of which in many communities 80% are either Christian homes or have that foundation -- and ensuring that any in-depth spiritual conversations includes a mention of "the universal apostasy" and restoration.

Listen, "restoration" to a Mormon is a code word for the church having once died. That means they are it. They're the only true church in town, in the state, and on the planet. If you don't believe it, go to any Book of Mormon & open up 1 Nephi 14:9-10. There, you'll see it teaches there's only two churches -- the church of the Lamb (which they see themselves as) -- and the church of Satan -- which is supposedly all other churches.

(You don't think LDS labeling all Christians as "apostates" constitutes an attack, or is it you just don't know what they teach? And how are LDS who label all Christians us "apostates" any different than Muslims who label all Christians as "infidels?")

Wrong on all counts. I just have personal experience with third-degree burns and I doubt that you have received any from spilling your coffee on yourself. It would be physically impossible to drink at that temperature-why would you serve it that way?

Why would the church have and “take” on the Mariott Corp? It was not founded by the church nor is it owned by the church. Timmothy McVeigh was a Nazarene, so what? I know that your life would be blissful if you could blame every bad on the church, but you are stretching things a bit.

***well that is worst yet, for you will be held accountable for things you knew but ignore!***

Only that which is irrelevant or fake.

Have you read the 29th chapter of Acts? The Aquarian gospel of Jesus Christ? The Lost Books of the Bible? The Apocrypha?

You really should to know why they are irrelevant or FAKE!
