Ammunition update in California & What You Can Do!
Please read and see how this will apply to all of us.
Long Beach City Council to Vote on Ammunition Registration Tuesday
March 24
Please Make Your Opposition Heard!
On Tuesday, March 24, the Long Beach City Council is set to vote on whether to draft an ordinance to force ammunition sellers in Long Beach to record the identity of all ammunition purchasers, as well as other details of the sales transaction. These records would then be collected and used by the Long Beach Police Department to identify purchasers who are legally prohibited from possessing ammunition.
This ordinance will do nothing to reduce crime. It is simply an attempt to restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.
The results of previous ammunition registration experiments have been so dismal that other cities have abandoned these schemes rather than pay to maintain them.
The ordinance is also illegal. These ammunition registration ordinances are preempted by state law and constitute an unconstitutional infringement on the Second Amendment.
Your help is needed to defeat this proposal. Please call and email the Long Beach City Council and/or attend the City Council meeting on March 24, 2009 and voice your opposition. Tell your neighbors to do the same. For contact information for the Long Beach City Council, please click here.

To save time, below I have complied a list of the Long Beach Council members and their contact info. Please voice your opposition to this proposal; Call, E-mail and Fax these council members, and help us defeat this. This is very costly and totally ineffective against crime, Different cities have tried this very same thing before and in EVERY case they have dropped it because it did nothing but waist time and money.......... If this passes in L.B. your city could be next, and it may not be just ammo you have to register for... ............... PLEASE PASS THIS ON.................... _________________________________________________________________

LOL
Civil Disobediance.
Hahhhh Hahhhh, not funny when they are in charge now.....
Are you out there somewhere? Liberty Belles?
It wouldn’t be the first time.
Yea Heheheheheheh!
“A typical time of morning and night for pot heads to smoke”.
I alwys learn something new everytime I am in FReeperville”
I’m guessing they don’t think ammunition is covered under the 2nd Amendment (and probably repeated in their state Constitution as well).
THIS IS AN EFFORT TO GET ALL GUN OWNERS ON A LIST. IT WILL MAKE CONFISCATION EASIER, and they will use QUANITITES as a check for those to investigate further, and they will use TYPES to put down how you are armed on the list as well...
How in the heck will keeping track of ammo sales stop ANY CRIMES? ANSWER: IT WON’T! It will ONLY prevent law-abiding citizens from exercising their Constitutional right to self-protection...
The only thing that keeps me sane is remember what is said in Proverbs (paraphrased) — Don’t put in with thieves who say “we’ll share the booty” because they lay in wait for themselves and set snares that their own feet will get caught in...
TANKS a Bunch for the ping,Abby,,,
This seems like more of the lib’s “Ammo Squeezzz”,,,
I think they already know they can’t take the guns away
from 80,000,000( + - ) Americans all at once...
The law of unintended consequences in action once again. Less sales tax revenue for the city, less business license fees and increased unemployment will follow.
LOL
Very nice Liberty Rocks..
Good point kicka$$
if it passes, then register EVERY SINGLE BULLET, one form at a time. do it via computer... print them out and submit them. if you have numerous types of ammo, shuffle the stack before submitting.
then advise ALL your friends to do the same.
of course, you should also file paperwork after you expend each piece of ammo.
the avalanche of paperwork would crush the department
Not my city, county, or even my state.
That’s what you get for living in Kalifornia.
They ain't boolits.
Make no mistake about it! They are coming....and soon!
Well, if it passes, it's implied that it's the duty of the citizens to "deliver their ammo" as quickly as possible for "registration"...
Does this mean that the criminals who purchased their ammo out of town will also have to register their ammo? Need clarification here....
Everyone that owns a gun ought to purchase their bullets a handful at a timer and bury the city in paperwork.
