Actress Natasha Richardson has died Husband Liam Neeson, sons shocked and devastated by loss
BREAKING NEWS
MONTREAL - A spokesman for the family of Natasha Richardson says the actress has died.
Richardson, a gifted and precocious heiress to acting royalty whose career highlights included the film Patty Hearst and a Tony-winning performance in a stage revival of Cabaret, died after suffering an apparent head injury from a skiing accident. She was 45.
Alan Nierob of Rogers & Cowan said in a statement Wednesday night: Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.

That’s a big 10-4.
:)
I'd forgotten that he'd been severely injured not that long ago. So sad for the family to lose her so young.
She probably was, and she is pro-Palestinian from WAY back. But the article states that Natasha and her mother didn't share political views.
Yikes! I've never skied WITH a helmet. One of my favorite runs at Heavenly is the one where Sonny Bono bought the farm...
Damned scary.
I can't stand Vanessa Redgrave's politics. But that said, my heart and prayers go out to her, the mother of that beautiful lady. It's a horrible thing for a parent to lose a child, and I wish her and the entire family peace and solace.
Natasha Richardson was a wonderful actress, a gorgeous woman, and by all accounts I've ever heard or read, a wonderful human being.
May The Lord grant her Grace, and comfort to all who loved her.

Actually, I believe that Lynn was her cousin or aunt. Vanessa Redgrave is her mother.

I have been thinking of her mother quite a bit over the last two days. As the mother of a daughter myself, I know that there would be no hanging on if I ever lost her.
I am also a ski professional, and I am really glad that I am not Richardson’s instructor.
Do you students usually fall on their heads? Usually it is upon their rear ends, a softer part of their bodies. If you are teaching the beginner lesson the way the PSIA (Professional Ski Instructor’s Association)outlines such a lesson, your students should not be hitting their heads.
I would really like to hear more about how she fell.
I too would like to hear more about how she fell and is there a certain part of the head( front, back> that would cause this? Laura Ingraham, filling in for BOR, last night had a doctor on but he wasn’t clear at all. He just talked about brain swelling.
It’s just tragic. Loved her in the parent trap movies, when Lidsay Lohan was a sweet young girl.
I posted on another thread:
“Vanessa is also known for her political activism, having campaigned against the Vietnam war, for nuclear disarmament and for the Palestinian cause.
At 72, she remains a committed Marxist, and in 2007 it emerged that she had paid £40,000 bail for former Guantanamo Bay detainee Jamil el-Banna.”
From the same article: Sad.
“Vanessa recalled how Natasha used to beg her to stay at home and spend more time with her.
‘I tried to explain that our political struggle was for her future, and that of all the children of her generation. “But I need you now,” said Natasha, “I won’t need you so much then”.’
At this stage, her mother was also drinking heavily. She said in her autobiography that she would open a bottle of cheap wine every morning ‘to get the fuzzy obliteration of alcohol’. Natasha was a chubby and insecure child, much perturbed by the constant comings and goings of lodgers and revolutionaries.
She spent a great deal of time planning and organising, presumably as a reaction to the boundary-free chaos of her home life in Hammersmith, West London.
In one interview she said she felt like a middle-aged mother instead of a teenager, cooking for the whole family aged 12.”
Did he break his neck? A helmet might have saved Natasha, but if Asher landed on his head, no helmet would have helped.
“I had never heard of this person until this week.”
Exactly. And that speaks volumes about her and Liam Neeson. She’s scion of near British Aristocracy and married to a superstar yet stayed out of the headlines and lived a very dignified, unpretensious life. Very classy lady.
I’m so sorry Liam. God bless you all.
