Obama Requires YOU to SERVE, H.R.1388, "The Give Act" to reform the National Service Laws

HR 1388, will hit the House floor on Tuesday.It is called the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act (The Give Act.) The House is scheduled to Rule this week. Sponsored by Democrat Representative Carolyn McCarthy (NY), Education and Labor Committee. The objective is to reauthorize and reform the national service laws.
Democrat Rep. McCarthy is sponsoring the bill with 25 co-sponsors, ALL Democrats, including Charlie Rangel. Need I say more.

If they use ships they can’t make people work. I guess it would help the shark population though. Those who actively resist will go to the ships, or the camps in the desert. Those who 'go along' will be sent to the work camps. For a while anyway.

Have come across any costs estimates? Congressional Budget Office doesn’t seem to have anything on H.R. 1388?
From 2007, CBO has a H.R.2857, “The Give” Act with costs over $6 billion. The Bills are probably different enough that you can’t really compare costs.
Thanks for your links. I wanted to see which Republicans voted for it in the Committee.

This is happening now. I have a friend who lives in a very liberal city. She threw out a pizza box but made the mistake of putting it into the cardboard recycling bin at her curb. The next day, the pizza box was leaning against her mailbox with a PRINTED note admonishing her for throwing the cardboard pizza box into the recycling bin when it still had some cheese and pizza grease on it! She was in shock that some neighborhood geek was the pizza box spy.
I wonder what else they look at in the trash?

The bill refers to ‘the Corporation’ many times. Do you understand what Corporation means in this bill? It would make sense if the term ‘local government’, ‘state government’, or ‘federal government’ was used, but Corporation doesn’t make sense to me.
