sigh......
and here of all places an attack on a business breaking no laws
Good for Publix...now if only the grocery chains in New England would take a hint.
Lots of Canadian produce is sold up north...especially bell peppers and 'hothouse' tomatoes. 'Product of Canada' right on the sticker...
I find that some who call themselves conservatives cannot distinguish between cheapness and value. The cheapest way to do something is not always the best way. Liberals want to find the most expensive way to do things poorly. Some conservatives want to find the cheapest way to do things poorly. People interested in the best value would focus on finding the cheapest way to do something well, but that does not fit in with our throw-away everything society.
I call BS on that explanation - - transportation would add a huge cost to the meat. However, it is good to see they ended the practice, as you note in the final paragraph.
Absolutely and also just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. There is more at stake then just dollars.
I asked on the other thread and never received an answer: how do people expect to get the outcome(s) you list by bitching about Wal-Mart?
Are you seriouly suggesting that what Wal-Mart is doing has nothing to do with it all?
Why not have these in every neighborhood? In fact why not have just a Hispanic country?
I asked a direct question, and I’m beginning to understand why people would rather change the subject instead of answering it.
In addition are you suggesting that Wal-Mart has no national responsbility to maintaining these very things?
I got a clue for you I do and damn them to hell for being part and parcel of the whole invasion. Big business is very involved in all of this.
we should agitate our legislators to achieve the outcomes we desire, if they do not listen we should work to unseat them, if we can't find one who listens we should work at the grassroots level to elect one who will.Sitting on our butts on an internet forum and bitching about "big business" simply makes those of us willing to do the above look like idiots.
I shop local too...Walmart does not have such good prices. Plenty of supermarkets beat Walmart...as for the meat, I would not feed it to my dog. Has anyone noticed the trend in supermarkets that meat can come from US, Canada and Mexico per packaging? I won’t eat it...knowing how poor the sanitation in Mexico is...not to mention the Walmart meat I tried was awful. My chicken and most meat is produced in Ohio where I live.
How true!
When we built our home up in North Dakota, the builder was also the employer for everything except the Plumbing, Electrical, and the HVAC.
When the final stage of finish work started they had an older gentleman, who was semi-retired, who would set up his equipment in the house and spend about four days doing all the trim and other finish work.
I have never seen such beautiful joinery and even though I have spent decades woodworking I still cannot match that man's talents.
When we were then stationed here in the Northern Virginia area we built a much bigger home.
The builder was actually just a scheduler and subcontracted everything out to the lowest bidder. I went in on a Saturday and found two drunk Indians attempting to install the HVAC system and when it came time for the finish work, two Korean men, who spoke no English, brought in a CHEAP cutoff saw and proceeded to hack together one of the worst trim and finish jobs I have ever seen.
I told the builder I was willing to spend the amount necessary to do a quality job and they just said their "people" were the best and they would not let me pursue it any further.
I don’t disagree. Talking and bitching gets nothing done. We all have to stand up and become involved or it will never happen. Whatever it takes. But to the point Wal-Mart and business in general is not immune and in fact they are intricately involved with many facets of the invasion and “multiculturalism”. Business has a role and responsibility in national identity, sovereignty and “We The People”.
The idea that we must support business no matter what when in fact they not being good stewards of these things is destructive and antithetical to the preservations of us.
Here at the local Meijer stores (We have two in Jackson Mi) almost all of the root veggies like onions, carrots, potatoes, etc that I buy are grown right here in the county. Lots of the cold weather crops like brussels sprouts and cabbage come from here in Michigan as well. The same can be said for apples and cherries.
I lived in Georgia for almost ten years...we had tons of Hispanics in our area...the hospitals almost went out of business, school taxes went way up for us legal citizens and the construction industry wages were destroyed. Construction used to be a good job, but now it’s not. My girls could not even go to Walmart because of the Hispanic men that followed them around...one daugter was only 11 at the time so don’t tell me this nonsense. We should have immigration laws and enforce them. The GOP wants Mexicans for essentially slave labor and it destroys American jobs. This is why Chambliss and Isakson supported the immigration bill.
Hey 1rudeboy...George (bronxboy) is keeping his job!!! He was told yesterday. Things are a little better at GM. There were some more sales and cost cutting is working...I see light at the end of the tunnel and maybe it’s not a train! LOL
We have local root vegies also...really good stuff. I shop at a little store called Sparkles-great sales and good stuff. I also shop at Giant Eagle. I have one kid who only eats prima della turkey. I can only get it at Walmart’s deli so I buy that there and that’s it.
