Actually the more majority-minority districts the better for Republicans — that concentrates the heavily Democratic voters into fewer districts and means more Republican majority districts.
If a state has 10 10-voter districts, with 50 voters from each party, 2 districts being set up as minority dominated 9-1 Democratic means the other eight add up to 48-32 Republican and it’s likely the GOP will have a majority in at least six of those other eight.

Obama must be deeply saddened today...

SCotUS: Court refuses to infringe on white voting rights (5-4 vote, major wrench in dem machine?) Fixed the title, too, you AP recta.

“Act aimed at helping minorities elect their preferred candidates only applies in electoral districts where minorities make up more than half the population. “
When a minority makes up more than half the population, it no longer is a minority!!!
Something smells here.

a North Carolina plan that sought to preserve the influence of African-American voters even though they made up just 39 percent of the population in a state legislative district. Sheesh. This plan let them go and bring in more of the favored minority from across the county lines until they had a majority for the district. Incredible. They're not even subtle.

The 5-4 decision, with the court's conservatives in the majority, came in the case of a North Carolina plan that sought to preserve the influence of African-American voters even though they made up just 39 percent of the population in a state legislative district. What were they seeking to do? Count every black's vote twice?

You mean like making sure minorities only vote the way the Dems want them to?
Remember the Black Panthers bullying people on Election day?

Cases like this one are why Chief Justice Roberts along with Justices Alito, Scalia, Thomas and Kennedy have to stay healthy. Otherwise, things will get even uglier.

Sure to provoke outrage from Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and various liberals. Too bad there’s a leftist in the White House.

Norm, this is a mere delay.
My prediction (I hope I am wrong but don’t think I am): Hussein will, before the end of his term, achieve his goal of a generational shift in the SCOTUS by having his sycophant Congress increase the number of justices in that body. He might have them move it to 11 or 12 or 13...then HE will appoint extremely young brainwashed students of Saul Alinsky (much like himself) and Liberty will die.
Hussein will achieve what FDR could not.

This part of the Voting Rights act was blatantly unconstitutional. I’m glad I voted for Bush twice.
