Hope Can You Believe This Change!! Federal Express stock in Freefall
Fox Business ^ | 3/06/09 | Vanity

Fed Ex has lost 20% of it's early week stock value in the last 48 hours. The package delivery business is taking a beating but Fed Ex is in free fall. Did the One announce a bailout for them?

Too many Fed Ex ads engage in the “stupid white guy” liberal ad agency crap. Minorities are always hip and smart, white women are baffled by it all and the white guy is just stupid.

Verizon does it and so do other companies. Castrol and sometimes Lowes.

Hangovers from all those parties and wagyu $100 steaks and Crystal (or whatever it is) must be killer on governing during the day.

I was just joking, but I do think your plan has merit.

All of USPS, FedEx and UPS work just fine for me. YMMV.

FedEx ground service is far superior to UPS.

Not my experience. Fedex ground has unpredictable delivery times, no Monday deliveries, no easy way to hold packages for pickup.

My UPS guy comes every morning at 10:45. He showed up in the middle of a blizzard that canceled mail delivery.

But FedEx chose Israel over the Arab countries. DHL chose the Arabs.

"implicit subsidies" ~ they're the same ones the Department of Defense gets ~ the locals don't collect taxes from US government owned buildings. On the other hand, they do collect taxes on buildings rented by USPS.

Other subsidies USPS does not get that UPS and Fed-Ex get are "industrial development proceeds". A local government, usually a city or a county, ill get approval from the state to sell industrial development bonds for the purpose of attracting a major mail, baggage and express company to build a large regional hub.

This is pretty common stuff.

The group you are referencing regarding fees licenses, etc. says the bottom end for USPS is $39 million in implied subsidies.

ONE BUILDING for a UPS hub will cost several times that!

Then the report mentions network costs to USPS because Congress and the Postal Rate Commission won't let them dump unproductive facilities ~ they estimate that added cost as being in the $100 million range. Having done a number of internal USPS studies over the years about that same item, I'd suggest it is now in exces of $2 billion per annum.

Actually, that's a relatively "new" but still experimental truck unloading technique first developed in the old Pittsburgh PA downtown post office.

Knowledge of this system has gradually filtered through the mail, baggage and express industry, in an intermodal way ~ both ground and air engage in it from time to time.

Those idiot Obama voters—they’ve destroyed America!

I’ve disowned those of my children who voted for the asshole.

Those who did not vote for him will get whatever is left of my wealth.

Trucks stop here three times a day and the only businesses we're into are "very customized PCs" and "LED lighted sealed hydroponic systems".

Big demand for those suckers.

A couple of days ago, it was $42.58. Ten days ago, it was $46.87. For $1.10 you can buy the right to buy it at $40 anytime over the next two weeks.
