Russian wet dreams with a tinge of “probability”.
Yes, Obama might try to impose some weird martial law on the US if the economy starts to fall apart and the Red states say NO to more federalization of state controls on the lines of the new “badget” - but it is more likely that the US will get rid of Obama than break-up.
This is the view from a non-American pro-American outsider.

If we could get rid of California, New York, Massachusetts and a few other liberal hell-holes, it sounds good to me!

Obama wants to know if this Marshall Law guy is someone he can appoint to his cabinet and if he’s paid his taxes.

Yeah right. And where does the US military, with all its branches and bureaucracy, fit into this? Does it split up also? Or align itself with one of the six “states”?
This guy won’t even say what he’s basing this all on. No, he’s either a provocateur or a nutbar.

Not agreeing with the Russian analyst that a breakup is likely, but he does seem to have the trigger for a possible disintegration correct: martial law. There are states, AZ is the first I can think of, that have cited the declaration of martial law and suspension of the Constitution as automatic grounds for secession.
As awful as four years of Obama will be, I have faith in a massive revolt in the electorate taking place before a less peaceful revolt is necessary.

"Panarin didn't give many specifics on what underlies his analysis, mostly citing newspapers, magazines and other open sources." I see the problem - he has no facts with which to make these predictions.

Sarah Palin will not let that happen. She'd take them on herself, and she's got the weapons to do it.
