Check out the video below, where WKYC investigative reporter Tom Meyer spoke with Greg Steffey, whose wife, Hope Steffey called 911 after she was assaulted by her cousin. Things took a turn for the worst when the police arrived and treated Hope as the perpetrator. She was arrested, taken to jail, and subjected to a humiliating full-body strip search by both male and female officers, violating the sheriff department's own policy that a strip search be conducted by an officer of the same sex. Hope was then left naked in a cell for six hours. Included in the news segment was video footage of the strip search....

I'm sure she deserved it, she had it coming because she wasn't properly deferential to the badge or she assaulted one of them by bleeding on their fists or she screamed and hurt their ears as they were stripping her down, or some such rotgut.
I expect that's what the LEO lickspittles will say when they arrive to excuse this "misunderstanding".

The officers involved in Steffey's case, who were caught on video roughly removing her clothing while she screamed, are now suing WKYC, claiming defamation and invasion of privacy. Unbelievable.

What do you mean real officers? This stuff goes on EVERY Day, in every city, in every county in every town in this country. Yet “you people” want an aggressive, armed and plentiful police force. So that’s what you get.

It is absolute unbelieveable that the LEOs are suimg the TV station for exposing them. The TV station reporters should be given medals.
To: steve-b
I am utterly disgusted. The officers involved should do serious time. In third-world countries, women have to be worried about being sexually assaulted when questioned or taken in to custody.
Have we actually come to that in the US?
It seems as if the liberals have gotten what they wanted: we've effectively lowered the standards of living in the US to turd-wurld levels. Viva equality!

Very extreme point of view, but understandable.

That’s easily taken care of: sue the officers individually, by name as acting under the color of authority of the sheriff’s department.

The woman filed a lawsuit against the Sheriff, the county commissioners and about 15 John Does/Jane Does of the sheriff's department. It isn't mentioned in the story but has probably already been settled.
This countersuit by the police is purely for harassment and revenge against injured citizens.

You know it.
Or the old standby, "You don't get it, these men and women deal with things you could never understand, you can't judge them!"

I dislike the police more every day. Totally out of hand. I can’t believe this would happen in America. I am flabbergasted. That poor woman.

I like to believe there are cops who aren't punks. This video is close to a sexual assault. Then they left in a cell naked for 6 hours? Abuse by punks in authority.

No, not really, a man protects his family against all predators.
, but understandable.
Totally and grounds for a "not guilty" verdict if I'm on the jury.

My sentiments exactly. This is the “State” in action folks.
To: steve-b
This will sound shallow and extremely prejudicial BUT, overweight female CO’s with butchy, badly bleached hair give me the creeps. I am a fitness trainer part time and I can’t tell you the number of times these dumpy dykes come to the gym, not to work out, obviously, but to hang out and make comments about other women working out. This is exactly the behavior I’d expect out of any of them.

If you will give me a list of the ones you’re going after I’ll be happy to pick up where you leave off if they get you before you’ve completed the list!
I don’t care how supportive a person is of law enforcement, especially in these days of officers dying almost weekly at the hands of criminals, there is nothing that could justify the treatment shown in this video.

I’m not defending the officers, they should be punished for wrong-doing, but the news has already tried and convicted them. With the criminals it’s always “alleged.” Why isn’t the same being used here? I’m just saying more “unbiased” news.
Again, it looks bad, and they should be brought to justice if this is the case.
