Mitt Romney backs GOP Stimulus Detractors with PAC Money
LA Times ^ | February 24, 2009 | Staff

Today, as ABC's perceptive Rick Klein notes, Romney's PAC -- Free and Strong America -- donated $1,000 each to 11 Republican congressmen targeted in a retaliatory ad campaign by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for voting against President Obama's economic stimulus bill. Romney praised the Republicans as "standing up for fiscal responsibility and saying no to spending abuse."

I should have said, “of the Republicans who ever had a reasonable chance of winning.” I meant no disrespect to Duncan Hunter. I don’t know anything about his life. I was, frankly, thinking of McCain, Giuliani, and Thompson.

Senator FRed Thompson is a conservative...

Unlike Romney the RINO/Liberal...

I purposely didnt mention FRed because you could have come back with the fact that FRed was divorced and remarried...

But he is a conservative on the issues...

Who is bringing up the mormon church?

I have despised Myth since being a studen in MA (and before I even knew what a mormon is, let alone that Myth is one).

What I said was, Romney was the one who had lived a “conservative” life. Thompson hasn’t.

That was my dream ticket a year ago when few people knew who she was but now I`ve moved on to Marsha Blackburn.

Oh, I think Marsha is wonderful. I still love Sen. DeMint as well.

More good fundraising news --Senator DeMint visits Boston:

There is no better friend to the American taxpayer than U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina). That's why Governor Romney hosted a fundraiser for Senator DeMint at the Taj Hotel in Boston this morning. Romney introduced DeMint by recalling DeMint's role in his 2008 presidential campaign. In South Carolina, DeMint escorted Romney to small town picnics and BBQ joints, riding in the "Mitt Mobile" almost every time Romney visited the Palmetto State. Romney said Senator DeMint is a consistent, thoughtful, strong conservative voice in the Senate and that he continues to look to him for his perspective on the challenges facing America. http://www.freestrongamerica.com/blog/

If you follow the anti-Mormon, anti-Mitt threads, you will see a lot of overlap. Even on this thread, there was the ugly remark about Mitt’s “magic underpants.”

And you want to put him as the leader of the whole pro-life movement...

Oh, is THAT what I want to do?

I'm so glad there are FReepers around to tell me what I REALLY think and what I'm REALLY doing.

IF Romney is in earnest...

And IF Romney really means what he claims..

Then he needs to sit at the back of the bus in a testing time mode...

Really? Says who, besides you?

What's the standard he must pass? How many months/years/decades/centuries would it take? How many thousands/millions of his own dollars does he have to spend supporting conservatives and socially conservative causes to please you, TN?

Give us some cold, hard numbers to go with your rhetoric. What, exactly, will it take for you to say, "OK. Mitt's a real conservative" ?

And, while you're at it, explain why your judgment of Mitt's conservative credentials matters. With all the conservative, pro-life endorsements he received during the primaries, why on earth should your judgment of him make any difference to anyone?

Its arrogance and non-committal behavior...

This, from one who knows the subject well.

But getting back to my new stance on medical issues...

Since I am now a whiz at bandaiding...

I have an opening next Tuseday at 10 am for open heart surgery...

What blood type are you ?????

My, but you do love dramatic, irrelevant mockery.

Oh, please. Read Thompson’s biographical articles.

There has never been a hint of that kind of scandal attached to Romney — or any of his sons, for that matter. I know something about the behavioral standards that must be met in order to hold the lay positions in the Mormon Church that Romney has held. He has walked the walk.

“Even on this thread, there was the ugly remark about Mitt’s “’magic underpants.’”

Well, that’s because it’s weird. You HAVE to admit that.

(At least you don’t have to defend circumcision like us Jews. That’s REALLY weird.)

Circumcision isn’t weird. It makes sense from a health standpoint. Ceremonial clothing isn’t weird either. Lots of religions use it — including some Jewish groups. Ours just doesn’t show.

Who the hell do you think you’re kidding? You’ve been a pro-Romney, anti-Christian bigot from the getgo.

It’s an insult to anyone who really has led a ‘conservative’ life.

Just how does one live such a ‘conservative’ life while spending almost all of it advocating for liberalism?

because I believe he is the next great hope for the party’s success.

Werent you pushing RINO Schwarzenegger back in 2003? And now you're pushing for RINO Romney?

I have something to tell you, don’t be shocked:

THEY ARE ALL POLITICIANS! For the love of Pete.

By Party Unity I mean don’t concentrate on bashing our own. I am not saying I support Romney for President, I just think you are being particularly harsh on someone RAISING MONEY FOR OUR CONSEVRATIVE candidates.

Do you have some baby seals you want to beat too?

BTW, while everyone was busy debating whether or not Romeny was REALLY pro-life, the most pro-abortion president to ever sit in the whitehouse got elected deliveirng the greatest blow to the pro-life movement in 35 years. Now it is likely we will not see the overturning of Roe vs. Wade in most of our lifetimes.

It is maddening what utter fools some people are, isn't it? The classic cutting off your nose to spite your face syndrome.

I was trying to make a joke.

But, sure, I wear a tallit katan, for example, which I presume the mormon practice of temple undergarmets copies, although ours are actually worn on top of our undershirts.

You mean you know something about the correct answers to the qualifying questions that are asked about behavioral standards that must be met in order to hold the lay positions in the Mormon Church that Romney has held...

Even mormons in these threads have admitted that mormons lie in order to get temple recommends or “callings”...

“Callings” are not given to people with experience or fitness in the field that has an opening...

A convicted pedophile could be placed to teach children...

Or a college professor could wind up as a janitor...

A bishop gets a “revelation” from the mormnon god...

A chance to “walk through” the mormon temples is so important and necessary to the after life future of mormons that they will say or do anything at their “interviews” for the experience...

BYU has its share of “vestal virgins”...
