My new tagline!
Good idea. I'll go back and e-mail 'em again, this time under Squawk Box. Thanks.
What is obviously meant by the graphic is “Abort the Obama Administration,” but that doesn’t sound very catchy.
Since “abort” is a synonym for “kill,” the graphic as it stands is readily subject to misinterpretation.
They also changed which ad runs before the segment on the webpage. A short while ago it was an ad for the CNBC series “NEWBOs”, or “The New Black Overclass” (which intrigued me, I have to admit - I wonder what THAT’s all about...). And, now it is an ad for a CNBC special on “American Greed”.
What would happen if the productive the Atlases of this country were to shut down for a week in a strike as a protest against the growing Socialism of this country?
The government can only buy votes by forcibly taking from the productive. What happens when the productive say the hell with it and stop producing?
If millions of people who didn’t buy houses they couldn’t afford just stopped making their mortgage payments for a couple of months, that would make a point.
That is what
i was trying to say
Revolution is in the air. Here is a recent email I received:
Government continues to dominate the American taxpayers budget, said Tax Foundation president Scott Hodge. Americans will still spend more on taxes in 2008 than they will spend on food, clothing and housing combined.
In 2008, Americans will work 74 days to afford their federal taxes and 39 more days to pay state and local taxes. Meanwhile, buying food requires 35 days of work, clothing 13 days, and housing 60 days. Other major categories are health and medical care (50 days), transportation (29 days), and recreation (21 days)
Tired of this?
Remember the Boston Tea Party?
Make a stand! Become a part of the American Tax Revolution. This is an unorganized call for all Americans to stop paying all taxes they have control of. Since most of you have your money stolen from you before you get it, there is another way your voice can be heard. Stop paying your property taxes.
On November 1, 2009 millions of Americans are going to mail in the mortgage payment less the property tax amount. We recommend you add a letter specifying you are paying only your principal, interest and insurance and that you wish to pay your taxes separately and on your own.
Over the coming year leading up to this tax revolution an organization will be formed. The organization will demand three changes from congress. Until these demands are met, millions of Americans will refuse to pay property taxes. The demands are as follows:
1. Eliminate the royal dictatorship-Term limits for congress and the senate. 4 years congress - 8 years senate. If this is good enough for the president, it is good enough for congress. Many of the existing congressmen have served longer than Hitler served Germany.
2. Eliminate income taxes and the IRS. Implement a sales tax in its place.
3. Make any kind of lobbying a crime. No more pay for play. No more congressional payoffs for favors.
4. Establish fund to pay campaign costs for future congressional candidates. Each party shall be given an equal amount for each candidate and this is all they can legally spend on their campaign. No more representation only by the rich and famous. No more buying Washington influence.
Please forward this message on to every person you know. Remember - this is an unorganized grassroots effort. The more people that read this message, the more successful this effort will be.
The American Tax Revolution
Absolutely agreed. In fact, that is what I originally thought it could also be interpreted as. I just saw it and KNEW it would be used against the bearer no matter WHAT they meant. It’s provocative, for sure.
“Michelle: The peasants are revolting!.............
Obama: I know........................”
I would reverse the roles!
“Your wrong. The rant wasn’t about Wall Street or the traders or the stock market. The rant was that of an American who pays his mortgage, and the cheers were from Americans who pay their mortgages, and can be summarized as such:
“The government is promoting bad behavior... do we really want to subsidize the losers’ mortgages... This is America! How many of you people want to pay for your neighbor’s mortgage? President Obama are you listening? How about we all stop paying our mortgage! It’s a moral hazard...”
I think that is a very populist message that will resound with the overwhelming majoriy of Americans.”
I have no doubt that under normal circumstances, your assessment would be dead one. If this were say in the 1990s or between 2000 to 2006, your points would probably be dead on.
However, if there was no ground swell after nearly $3 trillion of taxpayer funds were handed over to the very people whose greed (with government cooperation and greed) triggered the current crises, why in the world would you think that $78 billion in housing subsidies would trigger a ground swell?
Good point. It would actually be a sacrifice for us (penalties etc.) to do this. I like it when put that way.
We’re not going to have money for gasoline by July, and we’ll all be living in our cars by then, so we won’t be going anywhere. Interstate travel will most likely be banned by that time, too, with checkpoints at all state borders.
Don’t underestimate how quickly this Administration will be implementing its plans for us! ;)
The advertisement is just random. Earlier it was for American Greed. They just rotate.
Please, see Post #229.
But why? What is it that makes one voice....were we not in one voice after 9/11? Even eyes on the plane going down in New York recently....Support our troops?...believe it or not...we have forgotten Our troops, because they are not headliners....We are a community of press releases and so out of touch....the answer? A COMMON CAUSE...This is not big enough yet...I suppose if we live in FR...we can believe it is...but believe me...go to work or the gym...no body knows what the heck we are talking about...they have hair appointments and mojitos to tend to......It will take a shaking.
He’ll have a job lined up somewhere. And if he doesn’t, I’m willing to bet he makes his own job.
People are sick of shutting up and hopefully money won’t sway his very true and very honest opinion.
“And 0bama has only been Pres for a month.”
It is me? Or has this been the longest most depressing month in recent history. I am not sure I can take much more of this....I am not sure that the country will survive in tact until 2012.
Greetings from a fellow Master Gardener in MO!
We will have to see what the roaches do now that the light is shining on them. They usually go in hiding but with obambi who knows?
