Call to action: Possible Action Items for Regional FReeper Conventions

Just throwing out a handful of ideas for discussion:
- How to develop local chapters/conservative grassroots groups.
- Develop a conservative platform and a plan for recruiting, training, supporting and electing conservative candidates.
- Develop ideas for building an effective nationwide conservative grassroots network.
- How to combat the Fairness Doctrine? Install offshore servers? Private BBS? Email/Phone/Fax lists? Shortwave radio? Local/personal networking?
- Working with other conservative groups, political parties?
- Would a FReeper PAC be feasible? Practical? Effective?
- Would a FReeper 527 organization be feasible? Practical? Effective?
- How to infiltrate/influence local political organizations?
- Select and fund delegates for a national convention should our membership decide one is needed.

Each state has a FR State Board to discuss things of interest and events in that state.
Here is the link to the Florida State Board
http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/profiles?location=57
You can go there and discuss with others plans for meetings, etc.
Plus it is a good idea to put your state flag on your FR home page.
It's pretty simple to do.

I think we should run with this. Best case scenario, as we are (from our Q/R posts) in different fairly far apart SWPa areas we could network for upcoming elections (Toomey, Luksik, etal); worst case if UNFairness Doctrine comes into play we would be organized (or at least be able to network off network).
I get the PA Locale message board @ the top of my FR page...maybe we could get some more yunzers opinions on the Convention that way.
Rwi, I added (from the top of my head) a few other Pgh area FReepers to post.

LS, BRAVO! I see you on F&F each week (this morning,in fact) and I think it’s a great thing you’re doing! Kudos to Steve, Brian and Gretchen for this segment. Our children are being indoctrinated from an early age....
Because of your discussions on F&F......
at a recent Republican Women’s Club meeting, a member of our County School Board spoke and, I tried, 3x, to ask ....is there a State or County agency that verifies the accuracy of textbooks. Unfortunately, she didn’t call on me. I will email her... although I’m pretty sure I know the answer to my question, but, perhaps a seed will be planted ....and someone may begin looking at what we’re ‘teaching’ our children.

If it is in the summer, then I would love to attend. The problem with CPAC is that it is during the school year and I can't take the days off. A Regional meeting would be great since it might be close enough for me to drive to. I am in the N.Fla. area.

I can answer your question. NO. There is no agency at any level that verifies accuracy, in part because so much of what I expose isn't factual error as error of slant or interpretation by including, or excluding certain info. For example, this morning, they said about the Patriot Act, "Critics said it infringed on civil rights." But they didn't say it was passed 98-1, with far lefties such as Clinton, Durbin, Daschle, and Kennedy voting for it.
Moreover, textbooks are selected (usually) at the local school board level, and they don't have the time or interest in fact checking.

Thanks.I got an idea but don`t know if it`ll work, maybe you can allow a designated freeper to post a thread on their respective state, have the moderators lock out all other threads for that state, then put up a link on the forum page that directs freepers to a central thread with links to the other state threads?

With a little self control,we can agree that the state threads are ONLY for official meeting sites or dates,NO RANTS OR PERSONAL COMENTS!Its your site, ask for cooperation first but if people get stuck on stupid, well, that's up to you.
