“Democratic Senator Predicts None of His Colleagues ‘Will Have the Chance’ to Read Final Stimulus Bill Before Vote”...
Just called Senator Lautenberg’s office 202-224-3224.Joe answered on the third ring.
I aksed him if the Senator was still planning on voting even though he hasn’t read the entire Bill. Joe said, “yes because he is privvy to the Committee Reports. He knows what is in the Bill.”
I asked Joe if the Senator is comfortable with the vote proceeding even though a majority of the Senators have not read the additonal 1,000 pages that were quickly added two nights ago and Joe said, “yes, the Senator is comfortable with voting.
The feeling I walked away with is Joe definitely didn’t care and the Senator didn’t care one way or the other. I am so disgusted.
I told them I felt it was unacceptable to proceed and irresponsible given the reckless way the Bill was thrown together.
It is so frustrating to care more than the Senators do and their Staff. Sickening.

Thanks for the post! I just called Vics office and they admitted that they cannot read it all in time.
I told them that it is VERY dangerous to vote yes on ANY bill if you don't know what's in it.

I have just been in phone contact with both the RNC and the RNSC (National Republican Senatorial Commettee) regarding campaign funding for Collins, Snowe, and Specter. The RNC directed me to the RNSC regarding matters pertaining to the distribution of funds to the various senators. I suggested that the RNSC communicate to the senators today the ultimatum that if they voted for this Porkulus bill, they would not get any campaign funds next election. The RNSC spokesperson said she would pass my concerns on to John Cornyn (Chairman of the RNSC), but not necessarily today. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this response and asked if they had received any other calls on this subject, and she said, “no.”
I find this hard to beleive......can it be true they have received no calls on this subject?
If he believes that, then he should vote NO.

Every sign indicates that Porkulous will be approved in both the House and Senate. Specter was my only hope but he will likely ignore the avalanche of phone calls and faxes his contituents and us have been sending him. He is pandering to his blue state people.
Canda’s stimulus package is one-third the size of Porkulus as a % of GDP. $40B, or US$32B
I am grieving loss of our country. I feel numb. Maybe we should all be flying our flags at half staff to show our country is in distress :(

We are so screwed as a nation. Pelosi outright lied in that she didn’t give the bill 48 hours to be debated, and 3 GOP senators turned Benedict Arnold on the rest of the GOP that held together. This is just like 1993 with Clinton got his tax hike rammed through Congress, and two years later he lost his majority. I hope people remember this like they remembered that tax hike. This bill should put the Rats out of business again. Let’s just hope 2010 is not too late.
