each Rep allowed one minute to speak.
I try to remember that everything I say is heard by God, but it is a genuine struggle right now to control words and thoughts. Above all else, God is still on His Throne and it’s a good thing He is.
That's what I did just after the vote.
Called Mike Castle's office, my rep(DE), and thanked him for voting no. Also called the offices of Mike Pence and John Boehner and thanked them for their efforts to stop the bill.
I liked when John Boehner threw the bill on the floor, while railing that not one person in the chamber had read the bill.
Parts of this bill is unconstitutional. Part gives fed money in areas the state or city should pay for.
What was said re: expansion of health care (or eugenics 101), and ACORN?
What was said re: 48 hour review? (previously five days per Obama, but that’s like believing the devil).
What have the reps brought forward re: procedure to stump this? (let me guess, nada)
Just showed anger and energy...two things we haven’t seen from the Republican side of the isle for quite a while ;-) Can’t remember word for word.
Got mad about the mouse being more important than his constituents. Good stuff.
Tom Coburn (R) is up!
Kennedy is in Florida, and won’t be here to vote on the conference bill...
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2185152/posts
Gregg is committed to a “NAY” vote...
That’s a 2-vote swing without even working for it...
Could there be just the slightest chance of something unforeseen happening in the Senate Chamber this evening??
Absolutely! That's what the hurry has been all along...they're scared to death people will notice that the economy is improving on it's own!
Plus this is a twofer for them...they get to waste all these billions on their pet projects and claim credit for improving the economy at the same time! They see it as a win-win as long as they can get it passed immediately! Ba$tards!
Dear God, I hope so.
Passing the House & Senate on Friday the 13th?? If so, we’re DOOMED!
Heh! Coburn’s doing good.
Just enough snark to be entertaining.
And it’s all true.
He’s doing ok. Just ok. Too slow and boring for me, but he is hitting on a few good points...
Is anyone gonna get ticked off and say it like it needs to be said?
He’s strong and covering a wide range of the crap in this thing. Wish we could beam this to every TV...
I’m surprized at these guys for their restraint.
You or I or anyone here would be hauled off the floor and straight to the Group W bench if we were allowed to have our say.
” Im surprized at these guys for their restraint. “
I’m not particularly surprised — but I’m disappointed...
I keep hoping somebody there will have it dawn on him that this is a battle for national survival, and take the gloves off...
There needs to be biting/kicking/scratching/hair pulling/eye-gouging going on — and we get ‘admirable restraint’......
Dang straight!
He’s hitting the interest costs - a good one.
Coburn: “Anybody who votes for this Bill will be violating this (The Constitution.” Slam Dunk! Now work it!
A dig at Nancy and telling them all that if they vote for this they are violating their oath to the Constitution!
Re-do.
Coburn: Anybody who votes for this Bill will be violating this (The Constitution.)
“Stealing hope...”!!!
Right-on.
Thank You Dr. Tom.
Coburn is closing strong!
“We’re selling out the heritage of our Country.”
“Freedom is a precious thing. You’ll take away freedom and the glimmer out of the Children.”
