Santorum is damaged goods, IMO. The GOP has to find someone else.

Pardon the question, but what is the draw for Lynn Swann?

Yes, Santorum. If the goal is to make sure that Specter is defeated, I think Santorum would be the strongest candidate in the Primary.

In case anyone forgot, Santorum got creamed as an incumbent in 2006.

I do not think people remember how Santorum endorsed Specter in the primary when Specter was running against Toomey.

Unfortunately there are too many bumperheads in Pa. Case in point is Murtha....if that FB corrupt POS keeps getting elected and Santorum got dumped royally in 06 then without a major shakeup I think Pa. has too many brain deaders to elect a conservative Senator.

The Dems pulled out all the stops in ‘06 and kneecapped the pubbies in every race that they really needed to by undercutting Santorum in PA and Allen in VA. Also, by preventing a black conservative (Steele, Blackwell and Swann) from ascending to a national post.

We’ll see how mad the voters are in ‘10. I was totally disappointed in the Keystone state this past election.

A lot of things can happen, however, I see PA as being as blue as NY. I doubt Spector will even make it there despite all of his gyrations to appeal to liberals.

He is still marked with the R.

Liberalism is like cancer anymore ~ it’s killing this country.

Hope I’m wrong ~ 2010 will tell the tale.

Hmmmm. I think Toomey should drop the play for Rendell’s job, and go after Spector again. but thats just me, here in Ohio.

“Not only Spector, but all Republicans who cooperate in any way with this illegal Communist regime should be expelled from the Party and lose all GOP support. The Party needs to be purged of Commie allies and fellow travelers. No more Spectors haunting Congress.”

EXACTLY. And there is also a petition to put these RINOs on notice. The GOP needs an enema. Sign that petition at http://www.GOPenema.com

Possibly - But doesn’t the U.S. Constitution require that Congress’s Sphincter be from the Senate and not the House? I can’t remember. I’ll have to go back and read Article 1, Number 2, again.

A serious candidate is needed - Toomey or Santorum.

Someone needs to step up. As nice as she may be, Peg Luksik is not the answer, having lost as many state and local races as she has.

I am all for a REAL Republican for US Senate for PA.
But didnt Lynn Swann have some difficulty going up against Rendell? Is he going to be a better candidate, will he be a ‘winner’?

Shameful aint it? One of the best Senators in the past decade is not electable, yet dreck like Boxer, Schumer, harkin, Kennedy, and Byrd get re-elected.

“Pardon the question, but what is the draw for Lynn Swann?”

He’s not the only choice for me but he is revered in western PA and he’s conservative. He lost to Rendell for the Governorship but Rendell is very difficult to beat. He did well considering and I believe he could win the Senate seat and replace Spector.

I also like Santorum. He’s awesome. Losing to Bob Casey was no surprise because Bob Casey Sr. was also venerated in PA + he was strongly pro-life. He even refused to be seen with Bill Clinton when Clinton was campaigning for re-election. His son rode hid daddy’s coat tails.

"...and if you survive the primary, we'll fund your democrat rival."

For everybody who wants rid of Specter - you should save your $ and choose which one of the Democrats to back who is running in the primary, because that's the only way to get rid of him IMO. That, or he leaves the Senate like Bobby Byrd - feet first.
