Live Thread: Senate Porkulus Vote
Posted on 02/10/2009 7:05:11 AM PST by NoGrayZone
I didn't see a live thread and I just can't watch this debacle alone.
Meagan Kelly on Fox said the FBC filed a lawsuit under the freedom of information act to find out where this "lost" 78 billion dollars went from the first "bailout".
Things are getting a tad bit too interesting for my taste!

Speaking of Blue Dogs, one of them proposed a bare bone stimulus...there is a thread on it today. I wish there were more Democrats like Minnick.

The whimper is happening now...the bang is what will follow.

Drudge is on fire today. He has a chart showing the market down 300+ and the headline “THANKS TIM”.

Good work. However I doubt that the national AARP will do anything about this.

It looks like it is going to take a miracle to stop this train wreck.

So is this how democracy dies, not with a bang but a whimper? --
Democracy is a bad thing. And yes, this is how it ends, the majority votes money for themselves out of the public treasury. Democracies are followed by dictatorships.

If this passes can it be overturned in the next Congress if we can get republicans elected? Does anyone know?

I have been calling Senators and I just got hung up on when I told the gal my zip code. I was not rude in anyway too. All I am saying to these people is, I am asking the Senator to vote against the spending or stimulus bill. Putting our children into debt is a immoral act. We need a bi-partisan response that will actually address our economic situation. Any kind of support will be greatly appreciated. That is not rude by any means.
Even though the Senators are not my Senators, their vote will effect our children and us. I would think we have the right to call them all and tell them what we think.

There are some Freepers there I think. Hope they get to ask a question and are doing just what you suggested.

I am determined that we are going to hang this debacle around the necks of the RATs in 2010 and not let them up for air. I want pressure put on ZERO so finally the press has to admit he is an angry person who is not what is best for America but for the terrorist. What better way then to bankrupt our Country. That's great, but tell me, how many old people will die in the interim from lack of treatment? We don't need to hang it around their neck in 2010, we need to stop in NOW!

It looks like it is going to take a miracle to stop this train wreck. I wouldn't give up just yet. There is a lot of bad press coming out today and the markets are tanking which should reassure the Republicans that they are doing the right thing and they will hold the line.

Doubt it, it’s “too big to fail”.
The camel will be completely in the tent and sleeping on the couch.

Got a link?
We need to pray for the blue dogs. IMO they are our only chance.

The money will be gone in 10 minute if it passes, folks, this is a money grab for pork projects back home, nothing more, the republicans will gladly spend it just like the democrats.
To: chris_bdba
good luck on that....
even if Republicans get back into power, we still cannot pay for this....we need a revolution....
