This was for cloture only!
To: PhiKapMom
In the past cloture was not used on every vote, just on a few key issues every year or two. Cloture used to require a two-thirds vote, but earlier than that, if you remember Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, filibusters used to go on even if one Senator alone supported it. The majority would debate 24 hours a day, waiting for the exhausted filibusterer to yield the floor, at which point the final vote on passage would occur.

Collins and Snow have a good act, I suspect Maine will re-elect both.
Demographics in PA are changing - Specter wouldn’t win his next election anyway.

Hopefully, the bill had an earmark for a Federal Prison to hold all those who supported the Bail Out and the Pork Bill. The prison at Guantanmo Bay Naval Base should be available. But that's too nice for them. I say we split them between NTC/Ft. Irwin, China Lake Naval Base, 29 Palms MCB and Edwards AFB. Or just use the Nevada Test Site, the surface of which isn't being used for much these days. Or if those are "too military". Build it in a small corner of Death Valley National Monument. AC would not be "cost effective" so only the guard stations will be air conditioned.

And throw them out of the party. The fewer RINOs the better.

Is there a mean to make Snowe and Specter lose the next elections?
For instance with another Republican candidate running against each of them

CORKER! Wait and see how he votes on the final passage. As others have pointed out, when you know you are going lose, sometimes it's useful to have one of yours vote on the other side.

Curse them!!!!!!! Double curse the repubs who voted for this and thought this was the best that could be done. An hour ago I heard Spec-traitor on Hannity radio and thought I was going to break something. He is so FOS!!! We are so screwed because the majority of people are more concerned over who is going to be the winner of Dancing with the Stars.

If Collins and Snowe are not re-elected, they will be replaced by communists. What's the difference?
Herein lies a big problem with Free Republic: People don't know the difference between pro-choice Republicans and Communists.
Snowe voted to confirm Roberts and Scalito.
There isn't a Communist on earth who who would have done that.
I'd go on, but you should look this stuff up for yourself.

The anger has built up to a point that revolution is on the horizon. I thing we are at a point that over half of Americans are done playing games with these Communists.

and just what is the difference?

If a democrat held those seats the Republican support of the bill would be 0. Sometimes its worth sancrificing absolute power for principaled peopled
To: Markos33
Corker DOES NOT SUPPORT THE BILL. His vote was purely procedural. In order for the minority party to retain their right to filibuster, at least ONE member of the minority party MUST vote for the majority’s bill.

If Collins and Snowe are not re-elected, they will be replaced by communists. What's the difference? Lemme guess. You didn't vote for McCain, because, between McCain and Obama, you reasoned, "what's the difference?"
