This stupidity is what generates actions toward vigilantism. A little injustice is always tolerated, but a complete breach of justice is a gap which is likely to be filled.

WE did NOT elect him. 52% of the country who voted based on skin color instead of content of character DID. That’s 52% of the country that are severely brain dead. And the rest of us are stuck with this guy who’s in this thing WAAAAAY above his pay grade.
Honestly, I don’t know the details about him staying in custody after these charges are dismissed. My limited understanding of it is that a lot of the people at Gitmo are there without any current charges filed. The specific charges against this guy were filed only last year, I think, but he’s been there longer than that. So the fact that these charges were dropped don’t lead to release. They’re all still being held there under the Bush administration rules, whether there are current legal charges or trials or not.
I think this just puts him in the same situation as all the others there. They remain in custody. There’s a 120 day review of procedures. Then decisions will be made about how to change procedures for trials (military, civilian) or sending some to other countries.
That’s my understanding but don’t hold me to it.

It’s not only bad PR and it’s not only that people don’t understand a procedural move.
The problem lies with the reason the procedural move was required in the first place. Barry was so intent on impressing somebody, somewhere - his Code Pink/Michael Moore coterie? the members of his 57 (Muslim) states? - by halting the trials prior to closing Gitmo that he never even considered what legal havoc it might create.
Sorry, nobody can excuse him. The fact remains that he didn’t really care one way or another either about the Cole victims or the 9/11 victims. It was all about Barry and some promise he had made to somebody, probably in exchange for lots of money. There was no reason he had to rush in and do this right now unless he had to prove his bona fides. And now he’s trying to cover it up.
If we are very, very, very lucky, they will hit Washington DC with a WMD next time.
That will solve a lot of problems, not least of which would be utterly discrediting liberals and leftists in the US in a manner that can NEVER be forgotten.

I am just sick....If I was one of these Cole’s parents tomorrow the SS would have to restrain me......the American people wanted this guy and now we are stuck with him for 4 years....
Fortunately Mike retires in 10/10....unfortunately Jonathan re-enlisted in 07 for 6 years....I hat him being my son’s CinC....I miss GW so much...sigh

Agreed. Regardless of the procedural processes, this looks as bad as the Pope's recent harebrained decision to not excommunicate that renegade holocaust-denying bishop.
The Pope is being verbally brutalized if not asked to resign, and the bishop never actually masterminded anyone's murders. The fit is about to hit the shan, and even George Snuffalopagus won't be able to save Obambi from looking like the weak-kneed beginner that he is. Major popcorn time.
