Porkulus must die! Kill the Porkulus!

President Barack Hussein Obama will hold a prime time press conference, his first as president, Monday night in an effort to rally the public behind the stimulus bill.
Obama has been pummeled and lost control of perceptions of his nascent presidency as several of his nominees have been embroiled in tax and lobbying scandals that undermine Obama's promise of change in the corrupt ways of Washington. Support for his effort to wrest control of the economy has plunged as Rush Limbaugh and Republicans have dominated the debate on what has come to known as the "porkulus" bill for its astronomical sums of money alotted for non-stimulative spending.
Obama is taking a huge gamble by holding a prime time press conference rather than giving an Oval Office address on the economy. The White House press corps, many of whom traveled with the Obama campaign, has been showing signs of life after gushing non-stop on what it called "the smoothest transition in history."
The press conference will be held at 8 p.m. EST.
