Etta James Says, 'I Can't Stand Beyoncé' (Also Big Ears isn't MY President)

If you were wondering why Beyoncé and not Etta James was asked to serenade the president and first lady with "At Last" during their first dance at an inauguration ball on Jan. 20, you're not alone.

Etta, 71, whom Beyoncé went blonde to portray in last year's "Cadillac Records," is wondering the same thing, and she candidly expressed her displeasure during a concert stop in Seattle last week.

"You guys know your president, right?" she asked the crowd amid cheers (listen to it here. "You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain't my president, he might be yours, he ain't my president. You know that woman he had singing for him, singing my song -- she's gonna get her a-- whipped. The great Beyoncé ... But I can't stand Beyoncé. She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol' president day ... singing my song that I've been singing forever."

It isn't. It's class-less either way you go.

I despised Bill Clinton for any number of reasons going straight to his moral character. Barak Obama may be a marxist, but I don't know if that's necessarily a character flaw. But I'm not sure that I would publicly utter my distaste in quite the way that Heart or Etta did.

Maybe she has put serious thought into her politics. Perhaps she's one of the older folks who remember when the Republicans were perceived as the party of Lincoln and got huge support from black people, including MLK. Maybe she's pro life like MLK's niece. Maybe she doesn't like the patronizing, taken-for-granted way many white Dems treat the blacks on their electoral plantation. Maybe she is unnerved by the almost North Korean mass adulation the One is getting. Maybe she's made some serious coin in her life and is just getting tired of seeing the fruits of her labor treated as the politicians' plaything and pissed away on boondoggles. Maybe Obama knew she didn't care for him and that's the reason she got shunted aside. Whatever, I welcome her to the reality based community.

I agree with you, TT. Barack Obama, being the President of the United States, is my President. I didn’t vote for him, I don’t agree with his policies, and, I am really getting sick and tired of seeing his face on the evening news, entertainment shows, morning shows, talk shows, and everywhere else in the boot licking MSM. Like Rush, I hope he fails in getting most of his policies put in place. I think they are bad for America. But he is my President as much as President Bush was the BDS crowd’s President.

I used to feel that way as well until an unqualified turd with a questionable background assumed leadership via racism, voter fraud, media bias, greed and stupidity.

This is not about an agreement because the agreement’s been broken. Parts of that “agreement” with the American people include journalists reporting the facts, and nothing but the facts, for a legal/vetting system that REQUIRES certain proofs to walk thru the White House door that my children have to produce before they are allowed in the kindergarten door, for my ONE vote to mean something and not be cancelled out by votes from Mickey Mouse, the Dallas Cowboys and dead people.
