CBS’s Couric Praises Barack Obama as the ‘Anti-Bush’

Appearing on Wednesday’s CBS Early Show, Evening News anchor Katie Couric discussed her White House interview with President Obama regarding the withdrawal of recent cabinet nominees: "He is surprisingly relaxed...extremely comfortable, very focused. It’s very different than sort of the buttoned-up Bush White House...he said to every person who interviewed him...that he ‘screwed up,’ he ‘messed up.’ And I think he really is trying to be the anti-Bush because President Bush was so criticized for never saying, you know, ‘I made a mistake.’" On Tuesday’s Evening News, Couric portrayed Obama as a victim.

Early Show co-host Harry Smith agreed with Couric and pointed out another criticism of the Bush administration: "There was also criticism of too much loyalty." Like Couric, Smith then praised Obama for being the "anti-Bush"

“a lone nut assassin who was killed by another lone nut assassin.”

When you put it in plain language like that it does deify belief!

I hope Katie’s cardiovascular system is in good shape, like most of the lamestream media, that many multiple and continuous, nonstop orgasms could be a strain on even a healthy person.

I can't believe that anyone thinks Couric is still relevant. I haven't watched ANY network nightly news in years. I guess she has to show up in the daytime to still get an audience.

PS-I don't watch the network morning shows either. I am hard at work before any of them start.

It’s shocking to see two ‘objective’ people so out of touch with reality, and carrying on this way. Freud would be thrilled at the possibilities, thousands of couches to be ordered to accommodate those with this disorder. Harry, Katie, seek help.

If you think what Bush’s goals were, and then label Obama as the anti-Bush, just what are you saying? Does that even occur to you?

I believe the joyful contrasting of Barry’s willingness to say he made a mistake (via inappropriate slang terminology) to Bush refers to a particular set up the Dems tried to pull on Bush. I remember when it started, Nancy Pelosi went before the cameras to bait Bush by saying all anyone wanted is for Bush to admit he made a mistake - she kept it low key and almost chummy as if foregiveness and support would be his if he would just do this one small thing. The dems (including MSN) picked up the chant ‘admit it’ ‘admit it’ over the next several weeks...I think it went on for over a month. I was dismayed as the meme caught on - the man-on-the-street interviews (I know, they are often setups too) captured Americans wondering aloud why he would not do this - as if they believed that is ‘all’ the dems or anyone wanted.
When Bush did NOT cave into this touchy feely ‘all we want is an apology’ trap, the REAL agenda was unveiled, once again by Pelosi. She seemed exasperated as she lamented vigorously something like “WHY won’t he JUST admit HE MADE MISTAKES and then step aside and let us choose someone who IS ABLE to handle the office of POTUS competently!!!???” Bush saw the trap and avoided it - but the Dems had some sucess in portraying him as ‘too proud’ instead of too perceptive to fall into their trap. And now the dems continue to ‘craft’ history.....

“he said to every person who interviewed him...that he ‘screwed up,’ he ‘messed up.’”

Katie, it’s ok, you can breathe now. The point, lost on you, because while in his presence, you pee’d all over yourself, is that he is a ‘screw up’. So yeah, as a consequence, he ‘screws up’ and he ‘messes up’. That’s what ‘screw ups’ do.

Any one with a brain is not surprised at the “mistakes” being made by Obama. He didn't have the necessary experience to be President of the United States but we “made history” so we all feel good about ourselves don't we? No surprise here...
