Good that this potential drama was nipped quickly and that the deal to replace Gregg with a Repub held.

She must be a flaming liberal if she was Executive Dean of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
Nobody seems to know where she stands on abortion or other issues.
Here she is, at the 2007 graduation ceremony at UNH, flanked by the Odd Couple:

If the leftist loons in the Senate and the Marxist goons in 0’s administration are going along with this, Newman is just another moderate Republican who will fit into 0’s scheme of what he wants to see the Republican Party become, liberal lite.

My tagline is such because I think the RINO name calling is overdone, but not in this case. You're right about that but even so she's about the best you could hope for from a democrat governor in a blue state.

How nice for us...another tower of jello going to the US Senate...the worlds greatest and squishiest body. I remember when New Hampshire stood for the motto, "Live Free or Die" now it seems to be living by the motto "Can't We All Just Get Along?"

Sounds like a perfect RINO.

A Republican? I am surprised as I thought the move was made to shift the seats to a filibuster proof majority.

So Obama gets his 60th vote, and it’s a “Republican” to boot.
To: pgkdan
a NE liberal Republican probably
The only kind of Republicans that can get elected to U.S. Senate seats in that region.

Actually the best I could hope for was for Senator Gregg to tell the President thanks but no thanks, stay in his Senate seat, and run for re-elect.
Now this seat is probably gone in 2010 (if its not gone right now).

(I'm a RINO, he's a RINO, wouldn't you like to be a RINO too...)
To: kellynla
Is she any good. Did they keep their promise to pick a Republican...hopefully conservative, but at least someone better than Gregg would be a plus.

You mean it's not already?

It was reported that Gregg had said that he would not take the position unless the governor agreed to appoint another “R”

Judd Gregg today said: "This is not the time for partisanship".
Just revolting to see a stalwart fiscal conservative lend aid and comfort to a dedicated Marxist.

Every time we think the Rockefeller Republican wing is dead and buried, a faint, feeble “I’m not dead yet!” cry comes from the not-so-great Northeast.

My tagline is such because I think the RINO name calling is overdone, but not in this case. It's waaaaay overdone, which is why there's no way to distinguish genuine disasters like Arnold Schwarzenegger from genuine Republicans who don't happen to toe the uber-conservative line 110%.
