Actually the best I could hope for was for Senator Gregg to tell the President thanks but no thanks, stay in his Senate seat, and run for re-elect.

Now this seat is probably gone in 2010 (if its not gone right now).

I agree. I thought the man would be able to see what Obama’s real goal was with his appointment. Its troubling to see Gregg more interested in his own self advancement than in the best interests in his country.

I no longer expect any politician to put the good of the country ahead of their personal power, perks and privelges. None of them.
