“....Newman served as assistant secretary of Commerce for economic development in the Reagan administration. She was in charge of administrative operations for the George H.W. Bush White House.

She was chief of staff to Gregg when he was a congressman in the 1980s, and she was one of the first Republicans to publicly endorse Lynch in his 2004 challenge of then-Republican Governor Craig Benson, and co-chaired Republicans for Lynch.

Newman has also served in prestigious offices in higher education. She was an interim president at the University of New Hampshire and an executive dean at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

The consensus right now in New Hampshire, based on Governor Lynch’s past appointments, is that if ever he were to select a Republican to fill the seat, Newman would fit the mold.’

Wow. The Obama gang that couldn’t shoot straight! This is like deja vu with Clinton in 1992 with Kimba Woods et. al.

Democrats sure believe in taxing people, they just don’t seem to have the same belief in PAYING taxes!

Used to work for Gregg.

Endorsed Lynch (D) for governor.

I’m guessing she’ll make Arlen Specter look like Barry Goldwater.

My tagline is such because I think the RINO name calling is overdone, but not in this case.

It's extremely overdone. But you are quite correct in your post!

My tag line is such because it accurately describes what we just went through last November, and will always go through if we keep nominating moderates.

Looks like she’s a Republican (a NE liberal Republican probably). University President and former Gregg Chief of Staff.

I’ve been feeling the same way about the RINO tag for a while now. These days you just about have to be a conservative to be one.

She sounds like a RINO AND a squish.

How nice for us...another tower of jello going to the US Senate...the world’s greatest and squishiest body.

A Democrat Governor nominates a Republican. Hummmm?

J. Bonnie Newman, a Republican with close ties to Governor John Lynch (D).

Newman served as assistant secretary of Commerce for economic development in the Reagan administration.

J. Bonnie Newman will return to the University of New Hampshire on June 30, 2006 as interim president and an executive dean at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Which side of the aisle will she be on in the Senate?
