Michael Steele, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee wants the GOP to reach out to candidates who support gay marriage and are pro-choice. Steele told Fox's Chris Wallace that it was "important" to reach out to those voters.
WALLACE: You are one of the co-founders of something called the Republican Leadership Council which supports candidates who favor abortion and gay rights.
STEELE: Yes.
(watch video)
WALLACE: Does the GOP needs to do a better job of reaching out to people who hold those views?
STEELE: I think -- I think that's an important opportunity for us, absolutely. Within our party we do have those who have that view as well as outside and my partnership with Christy Todd Whittman was an effort to build a bridge between moderates and conservatives.

I am not for special rights, but I support anyone to live the life they want to live..just not force it on me. I am pro choice, I hate abortion, but I don’t see how it can be outlawed now...it is not the issue I care the most about. Anything else you want to know? I live in Arizona.
Noooooooooooooo!!!
Great point!

:-)
LLS
I agree about the personhood part.
LLS
Wow!
I sure struck a nerve with you!
I guess I should be flattered that you read, dissect, cut and paste every word I say in your feeble attempt to hate and insult me.
But dude. Let it go. Please feel free to ignore me. I really didn’t mean to cause you so much anger and stress as you have shown this afternoon.
Just let it go.
Or continue to hate on me.
Whatever. You have my permission.
I saw the entire interview....you might try that sometime, before you fall into their little traps again.
I have NO problem with anything Steele said in this interview.- NONE... and I am adamantly pro-life.
It amazes me that FREEPers KNOW that a Republican can give a 30 minute interview, and media will use the one, worst phrase they can gather and use it to tear us apart, and we actually fall for it.
geeshk...
I agree with you.
I think most of us conservatives are the “live and let live” type.
The In Your Face lefties have gone haywire. I don’t think that Steele is suggesting we reach out to them.
Liberalism has been a one-way ratchet all my life, and if a party won't ratchet back, to hell with them. At least with the Dems, Americans KNOW they are getting liberalism, and vote for it anyway, and deserve what they will get. Unless they are terminally stupid.
I just wish there was an opt-out clause.
However, if this was just talk, adn the GOP does not move left, I will vote for specific candidates based on their personal positions. For example, I'm pretty proud to vote for Jeff Sessions, and moderately so for Richard Shelby.
I’m saying that I believe homo’s have a mental sickness which was the law not that long ago but the law changed because some liberals sat there and spouted their crap.
I believe that homo’s need to be treated mentally and not by another liberal or homo.
Every homo I have met has a problem ,the way they act all of a sudden, drama queens, attention seekers etc
I seriously doubt it. She’s very weak in her understanding of the Constitution, and had no problem reconciling her views to McCain Republicanism.
Perhaps. We’ll see how it plays out.
But I’m through voting for the less evil. Bush I, Dole, Bush II, McCain. I didn’t vote for any of them in the primaries, and next time , unless I get at least my third choice, I ain’t voting R for President.
Those who are sacrificing innocent life and the family on the altar of economic and personal freedom are dangerous. They would render this country unworthy of the freedom they claim to support. By supporting moral anarchy they,as I believe Edmund Burke put it, “forge their own fetters.”
Perhaps. I also believe that they are spiritually sick, and need Christ.
I hope the find Him before too late.
The War on Terror deals with possible self-defense. You may not choose to believe there was any value in seeking out terrorists who promised to destroy us, but UNBBORN BABIES ARE ALWAYS INNOCENT.
There is no room for the possiblility of them having committed any crime-let alone a capital crime.
You throw out red herrings-intentionally, or just out of ignorance?
The right to life as used in the founding documents of this country refers to physical life-not a lifestyle desire.
True pacifists are prolife-meaning they defend innocent human life. That protection encomapsses unborn babies, or it covers no person at all. I take no issue with people who are honestly consistent in their pacifism.
The founding documents address US citizens only.
Natural Law addresses all of humanity.
Human beings are free to choose to live according to it or not- and they will be rewarded/punished for the choices they make.
Is this INSANITY??? Does this man know the planks of the party??? How can he end up in that position??? We thought the RNC was trouble before...it is totally down the tubes now. Throw the name REPUBLICAN out and just label it DEMOCRAT WANNABEES.
The founders believed in: If you don't believe in LIFE first,Liberty, not license!
" Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".
then there is no liberty, only license.
Because it's like kissing Jane Fonda on the lips!
Baby killing is a line that cannot be crossed. Homosexuality is a line that cannot be crossed.
This is because both issues make mush of our American culture.
