When Barack Hussein Obama places his hand on the Bible today to take the oath of office as 44th president of the United States, Barbara Nelson of Kenmore will undoubtedly think back to the day he was born. It was Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu.
I may be the only person left who specifically remembers his birth. His parents are gone, his grandmother is gone, the obstetrician who delivered him is gone, said Nelson, referring to Dr. Rodney T. West, who died in February at the age of 98. Heres the story: Nelson was having dinner at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach with Dr. West, the father of her college friend, Jo-Anne. Making conversation, Nelson turned to Dr. West and said: So, tell me something interesting that happened this week, she recalls.
His response: Well, today, Stanley had a baby. Now thats something to write home about.
The new mother was Stanley (later referred to by her middle name of Ann) Dunham, and the baby was Barack Hussein Obama.
I penned the name on a napkin, and I did write home about it, said Nelson, knowing that her father, Stanley A. Czurles, director of the Art Education Department at Buffalo State College, would be interested in the Stanley connection.
She also remembers Dr. West mentioning that the babys father was the first black student at the University of Hawaii and how taken he was by the babys name.
I remember Dr. West saying Barack Hussein Obama, now thats a musical name, said Nelson, who grew up in Kenmore and went to Hawaii in 1959 to be in Jo-Annes wedding party. When Nelson was offered a job as a newspaper reporter and photographer......

If she was really his teacher at Punahou, that part of the story is not second-hand.
I believe that he really was born in Hawaii on the stated date. But I know that older well-meaning people often confabulate - their memories fail and they add in additional "facts" to improve on their stories. So there has to be something else to back up her story about the birth before people rely on her word.
great post now add that to a family member saying she was at the birth in Kenya and phony fighting to not release the birth certificate.
We ll it all sounds very bizarre, I don’t think I have ever known a president who would not show his birth certificate if there was a question about his birth place.
I wish FOX, CNN etc would do more investigating into this as this is a serious question and puts the constitution into disarray
Who has the ping list? I’d like to be added.
The reporter should also interview Nelson’s friend Jo-Anne, the daughter of Dr. West.
What do you mean? I was eight at the time, and even I remember hearing about this guy being born...I remember thinking that with a name like that, he could be preident one day...
No record exists of this.
It was Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu.
From the doctor's story:
In December of l956, after delivering at least 5,OOO babies - and other things, he retired from the practice of medicine.
So how come the doc was delivering babies 5 years after he retired ???
Barbara Nelson was my English teacher as well in the 70s at Punahou. I would tend to believe her, but did find her to be one who had a seeming crush on the athletic boys in the class. I should know. But she was a good teacher and very credible person - if not a little shrill. She is definitely someone who would remember things that others would likely not think about. This story rung true for me, the only wierd part was the guy writing down the stanley part and then suppsoedly writing someone about it, but nerds never cease to amaze me. Punahu had some odd ducks. Obama ought to thank his capitalist roots and his grandmother for his opportunities in life, not socialism.
Add that to Peter Ogego, Kenya's ambassador to the United States, who said in a phone conversation that Obama's place of birth was a historic sanctuary in Kenya and that Obama's grandmother was still alive. All recorded in a phone conversationg. Soon after Kenyan government sealed all records on Obama and said no one could give any interviews without first getting permission.
Thanks manc!
Stupid is as stupid does, and they are just plain stupid.
Unfortunately, they outnumber us.
Leftists will go to amazing lengths to counter any inconvenient facts and truths that threaten their utopian wet dreams in even the slightest way, by responding with made-up "facts" and "truths" that "support" their precious worldview.
I've seen it happen often enough to conclude that it's a widespread pathological mental condition that seemingly goes hand-in-hand with being a committed movement leftist. They believe so strongly (yet mistakenly) that they are 'the good guys', and that they are 'the enlightened ones', and that they are fighting the good fight against the Nazis and Neanderthals (namely, anybody who disputes any of their cherished beliefs). In other words, many of them are pathetic, Walter Mitty-esque true believers, who are in reality (to put it kindly) mostly dangerous idiots.
Inner-esting!
Revisionist history.
Lies being planted now for cover.
What causes you to “believe” he was born in HI? The COLB posted on websites, or his autobiographies/memoirs?
Seriously... my teachers wouldn't remember me for anything because I did my work like a good little worker bee... well they would probably remember my unique Latin-based name (of Italian heritage) here in Texas where I went to elementary school ~38 years ago.
Don’t worry, they created this alibi just in case one of these courts actually ask for “proof.”
At which point they will produce the napkin with his name on it. The court will take this as more than enough evidence and the case will be closed!
I think her memory is gone.
no probs
It is a shame that some in this country have the so what attitude or think he has produced his birth certificate.
One person said it is up to us not up to him to prove his eligibility.
I need to prove I am American to get a passport so I have to show I am. Now if he runs for president and questions arise about his birth place then he should show it to settle the argument.
Keep up the good work and do not be discouraged by anything negative towards you, Please keep me updated if anything else comes of light.
Thanks
